This charming holiday cottage overlooks the Irfon Valley and the surrounding hills, offering guests breathtaking views and a peaceful countryside escape. Perfect for walkers, nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil rural break, Kilsby Cottage combines comfort, space and an unbeatable location in the heart of Mid Wales.
Refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, Kilsby Cottage offers beautiful views from every room. The ground floor consists of a generous open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, along with a well-equipped separate bathroom and an entrance hall and lobby ideal for storing cycles, fishing tackle and outdoor clothing. The sitting room and dining area are furnished with comfortable cane seating and include a flat-screen digital TV, video player, DVD player, stereo CD player and radio. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage, although Freesat TV reception is not currently provided. The fully equipped kitchen features an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, health grill, slow cooker and fridge-freezer, ensuring everything needed for a self-catering stay is on hand. The spacious shower room includes an automatic washing machine and an iron and ironing board are also provided.
Upstairs, the cottage offers a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, with an additional fold-up bed or travel cot available on request. Each bedroom includes bedside lockers, a recessed double wardrobe, a dressing table and a hair dryer. The cottage is well suited for up to four adults, with the option to accommodate a fifth adult for a small additional charge. The shower room features an extra-large walk-in shower cubicle fitted with grip rails and a removable seat, along with a sink, toilet and a recess for the washing machine.
The cottage is fully double-glazed and centrally heated, with individually controlled radiators to keep guests comfortable during colder months. A highchair is available on request.
Outdoors, guests benefit from reserved secure off-road parking, a private seating area and access to the gardens at the front and side of the main house, where panoramic views of the upper Irfon Valley can be enjoyed. Barbecue equipment and outdoor furniture are provided, along with secluded seating spots throughout the garden. Numerous bird feeders attract a wide range of species and visitors may even catch sight of pied flycatchers nesting in the boxes.
The setting is quiet and secluded yet within easy reach of the town's amenities which include 2 restaurants, 3 pubs, several shops and a petrol station. The cottage is within easy reach of many attractions including Abergwesyn Common, Hereford Cathedral, Roman Gold Mines and Wyeside Arts Centre. This area is a haven for walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and pony trekking.
