6, Northgate Vennel is a delightful, south-facing, selfcatering apartment in a quiet part of the conservation area of central Peebles and is just a 3 minute riverside walk from Peebles High Street. Peebles is an excellent location for exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders with day trips into Edinburgh.

ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation is highly recommended by guests and many return every year. Built in the 19thC as a self contained apartment, it occupies the entire first floor of a 2 storey house with steps leading to its own front door.

The long attractive entrance hall leads to a comfortable 18ft sitting/dining room and a separate well equipped kitchen. The apartment is ideal for 2 guests with a large bedroom with a kingsize bed but we also provide a luxury folding bed and a cot. The shower room includes a heated towel rail. Comprehensive tourist information, local books, games and Wifi are all provided. The centrally heated property is fully controllable.

A useful outside understeps lockable store cupboard is ideal for bicycles, muddy boots, fishing gear, pushchairs etc and there is free on-street parking.

VISITING PEEBLES AND EXPLORING THE SCOTTISH BORDER

Peebles is a delightful, historic, picturesque small town with lovely independent shops and walks along the River Tweed, Tweed Green and into the higher surrounding hills. It boasts excellent fishing, a golf course, tennis courts, horse riding, mountain biking, a swimming pool and a small theatre. Glentress Forest also offers excellent walking and is renowned for its mountain biking trails.

Historic houses such as Traquair, Abbotsford, Neidpath, Mellerstein, Manderston, Floors and ancient abbeys at Melrose, Kelso, Dryburgh and Jedburgh and the remarkable Rosslyn Chapel can all be visited.

The Dawyk Botanic Gardens and Kailzie Garden are nearby and Edinburgh is only a 30 minute drive away by car or, if you prefer public transport, the Edinburgh bus stop is near the apartment.

Rates: From £400 to £500 per week depending on season.
Maximum of 2 people plus 1. A cot is also available.
Children are welcome.
