The Burrow is a charming holiday home situated in the conservation village of Morebattle in the Scottish Borders, providing a cosy and thoughtfully equipped retreat that’s perfect for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
The lounge and dining area features a wood-burning stove, a comfortable sofa and a Smart TV, along with a dining table and two chairs. Guests will also find books, walking guides and OS maps, a pack of cards and board games, plus practical items such as a hoover, mop and cleaning products.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer box, dishwasher and microwave, as well as a kettle, cafetière, Italian percolator, teapot and toaster. There are plenty of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery and glasses for wine, beer and soft drinks, along with foil, clingfilm, washing-up liquid and basic cleaning products. Safety items including a fire blanket and fire extinguisher are also provided.
The bedroom offers a comfortable double bed with side tables and reading lamps, a dressing table with mirror and lamp, a built-in wardrobe with wooden hangers, and useful extras such as a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. In the bathroom, there is a walk-in rain shower with body jets, a heated towel rail, towels, shampoo and shower gel, two toilet rolls, a vanity mirror with built-in lighting and a wooden storage tower for toiletries and makeup.
Outside, the rear courtyard has garden seating and a table, an outdoor wall-mounted mirror, seasonal flowers and plants, and a herb garden. Dogs are also well catered for, with food and water bowls, throws for the sofa, a spare lead and poo bags, plus complimentary dog treats and a ball. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing and many other outdoor activities, making The Burrow an excellent base for exploring the countryside.
The Scottish Borders is a very scenic region with plenty to see and do, from historic sites and beautiful countryside to charming towns and outdoor activities. Kelso, a market town in the Scottish Borders, has plenty to offer visitors of all interests. History and heritage lovers can explore the grand Floors Castle and its beautiful gardens, wander the atmospheric ruins of Kelso Abbey and enjoy the Georgian architecture around the town centre and square. The town is also known for Kelso Racecourse, one of the friendliest racecourses in Britain and makes a great base for scenic riverside walks along the Tweed and Teviot or exploring nearby attractions such as Smailholm Tower and the historic country house at Mellerstain. There are cosy cafés, independent shops and frequent markets to enjoy in the heart of town, while the surrounding countryside offers opportunities for cycling, fishing and outdoor adventures.
