Hargate Hall is an expansive country house situated in 7 acres of parkland, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, near Buxton and the village of Wormhill. This beautifully refurbished property offers 12 self-catering holiday apartments, ranging in size to accommodate groups of 2 to 10 guests, with the entire collection able to host up to 77 people. Whether you're planning a family getaway, a reunion, or a special celebration, Hargate Hall provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable stay in Derbyshire’s scenic countryside.

Each apartment at Hargate Hall is equipped with at least one bathroom, featuring either a shower or a shower over the bath. The fully fitted kitchens come with everything needed for self-catering, including a dining area with table and chairs. Comfortable sofas, a TV and a DVD player are provided in the living areas, except for the Hardwick apartment, which offers a smart TV instead. Some apartments, such as Balmoral, Windsor and Sandringham, are also equipped with dishwashers. The apartments can accommodate between 2 and 10 guests, with bed linen provided. Personal towels are available for an additional £5 per person per week. Electricity is metered through a £1 coin system, with typical usage costing no more than £1 per day. All apartments have central heating and the communal areas are also centrally heated, with a few rooms featuring independent electric heating.

The Chatsworth Apartment


The Chatsworth Apartment features one bedroom with a double bed and two additional single beds located on a raised mezzanine level. The spacious living area includes two comfortable sofas, offering plenty of room to relax. While the bedroom can accommodate a cot, some furniture may need to be moved to make space.

The Haddon Apartment


The Haddon Apartment is a one-bedroom space featuring a double bed and two additional single beds on a raised gallery. The spacious living room includes two comfortable sofas, providing ample space to relax. The bedroom can also accommodate a cot, although some furniture may need to be rearranged to make room.

The Hardwick Apartment


This is a cosy one-bedroom space, perfect for couples but also capable of accommodating up to four people. It features a double bed in the main bedroom, with two additional single beds on a raised mezzanine. While the snug living area offers food preparation facilities and a comfortable sofa, it’s best suited for two people, although it can sleep four. Please note, the bedroom is not easily configured for a cot.

The Welbeck Apartment


This apartment offers a comfortable one-bedroom layout, with a double bed and two single beds on a raised gallery, making it ideal for up to four people. The spacious living room features a large settee and a cosy armchair, providing a perfect spot to unwind. The bedroom can accommodate a cot if some of the furniture is rearranged, making it a flexible option for families with young children.

The Ashbourne Apartment


This apartment sleeps up to 8 people and features two bedrooms: one with a king-sized bed and a bunk bed and the other with a double bed and a bunk bed (with space for a cot). The spacious living room includes two comfortable settees, perfect for relaxing. Located on the ground floor, the bedrooms and bathroom are situated down a set of stairs in the converted basement, offering a private and peaceful space.

The Bakewell Apartment


The Bakewell is a spacious 2-bedroom apartment that sleeps up to 8 people. It features a double bedroom and four single sleeping areas on a raised gallery, accessible from the living room. The apartment includes two modern bathrooms, with one bedroom and bathroom located on the ground floor, while the other is situated down a staircase in the converted basement. Please note that these basement level bedrooms are not suitable for cot use.

The Castleton


This is a spacious 2-bedroom apartment that sleeps up to 6 people. One bedroom features a king-size bed with two additional single sleeping areas in the raised gallery, while the second bedroom, located in the turret, boasts a beautiful 4-poster king-size bed. Both bedrooms are suitable for cot use. Although the apartment is on the first floor, the turret bedroom is accessed via an additional flight of narrow stairs. The generous living area includes a fully equipped kitchen and two comfortable sofas, making it the perfect space to relax after a day of exploring.

The Eyam Apartment


Eyam is a 2-bedroom apartment that comfortably accommodates up to 6 people. It features a galley kitchen, a shower room and two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. The living room provides ample space to relax, with two sofas and a dining area for enjoying meals together. Perfect for families or small groups, Eyam offers a comfortable and welcoming base for your stay.

The Sandringham Apartment


This apartment is a spacious 2-bedroom accommodation that sleeps up to 8 people. One bedroom features a double bed and a set of bunk beds, while the other has a double bed with two additional single mattresses on a raised mezzanine. The large living room offers plenty of seating with three sofas and the kitchen is equipped with modern amenities, including a fitted dishwasher. Both bedrooms are suitable for cot use, making this apartment ideal for families or groups.

The Tissington Apartment


The Tissington apartment, located on the first floor, offers stunning views of the surrounding area. It features two bedrooms: one with two single beds and the other with a double bed and two additional singles on a raised gallery. While neither room is easily suited for a cot, the spacious living area provides two comfortable sofas, creating the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. This apartment comfortably sleeps up to 6 people, ideal for families or small groups.

The Balmoral Apartment


This apartment is our largest accommodationa and offers three bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with a king-size bed and another with a bunk bed. Additionally, there is a raised mezzanine area with a double bed and two single mattresses. The apartment boasts stunning views and a spacious living room with three comfortable sofas. It also includes one bathroom and one shower room. The bedroom with the bunk bed can accommodate a cot if needed, making it a great option for families or larger groups. This apartment sleeps up to 10 people, offering plenty of space and comfort.

The Windsor Apartment


The Windsor is a spacious ground floor apartment with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite. The first bedroom features a double bed, bunk beds and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom includes a single bed and another set of bunk beds, while the third bedroom has two additional single beds. Both bedrooms with bunk beds can accommodate a cot if needed. The generous living area has three sofas, providing ample space to relax. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located down a set of stairs in the converted basement, making this apartment an ideal choice for families or groups. It sleeps up to 9 people in comfort.

The Peak District and Derbyshire offer breathtaking and varied landscapes, making it a haven for outdoor activities like hiking, family cycling, mountain biking and adventure sports such as caving, rock climbing, hang gliding and paragliding. A visit to Chatsworth House is also a must—set within expansive parkland and surrounded by scenic, wooded hills. The house boasts an impressive collection of paintings, furniture, sculptures, books and other historical artefacts. For history enthusiasts, a trip to Haddon Hall is essential. Known as one of the finest examples of a medieval manor house in England, it offers a glimpse into the past like no other.
