South Farm Cottages offer self catering holiday cottages situated at Blackborough, near Honiton in East Devon. Our lovely holiday cottages are perfect for fishing and family holidays, and our stunning farmhouse is wonderful for luxurious hen parties.

South Farm is an idyllic family holiday destination within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty less than an hour’s drive from Exmoor or Dartmoor. The guests at South Farm can enjoy stunning views and share the wonderful facilities. A communal games barn with badminton,table tennis, toys, books and board games is ideal for children to let off steam, whilst adults indulge in a sauna and spa hot tub or use the gym, perhaps even swim in the solar heated outdoor swimming pool after a “knock about” on our tennis court. The grounds are extensive with picnic tables and BBQ’s are available and there is a children’s play area with trampoline and play tower. Close to the self catering holiday cottages are three well-stocked Carp / coarse fishing lakes. The surrounding fields are where deer and buzzards roam, as night falls you may even see the badger family and foxes that often pay us an evening visit.

The Farm House (10)

A luxury appointed 5 double bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a large enclosed garden, outside hot tub (£50 per visit), double garage and magnificent views from most of the principle rooms, conservatory and expansive patio. The self catering house is extremely well equipped, boasting a 40 inch flat screen television with sky, DVD and Stereo player, washing machine, dishwasher, AGA and a study area with a broadband connection. There is also a connecting door to Oaktree Cottage to accommodate larger parties up-to 16 people.

Oaktree Cottage (6)

A 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, two storey house with the same magnificent views. Downstairs has a new fully fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, large fridge freezer and washer dryer; a dining area that opens out onto a patio and a twin bedroom with en suite. The lounge has a wood burning stove to complement the new oil fired central heating and large windows overlooking its garden. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, 1 double 1 twin, and a bathroom with fitted shower.

Coshes Garden (5)

A single storey, 2 bedroom cottage retains beamed ceilings and part stone walls. It also has a newly fitted open plan kitchen with its own washing machine and dish washer and a living room with patio doors to lawn and magnificent views. Coshes has a double bedroom and a second bedroom with a set of bunk beds and a single bed. It has night storage heaters and a wood burning stove.

Cinders Cottage (6)

A 3 bedroom, single storey cottage retaining beamed ceilings and part stone walls. Double patio doors open to lawn and magnificent views. The large sitting/dining room includes a newly fitted open plan kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. Cinders has a 2 bedroom, a twin bedroom and a small bedroom with full size bunk beds. Cinders has night storage heaters and a wood burning stove.

Stable Cottage (6)

A 3 bedroom cottage with a back stable door opening to views over farmland and distant woods. Heated with oil-fired central heating and a wood-burning stove it is a particularly cosy winter cottage. It has a separate kitchen and living/dining room. The double bedroom is off the living room and there are 2 further twin bedrooms and bathroom. Stable Cottage has parking near the back door and a garden from which to catch the sun with splendid distant view.

Lake Cottage (4)

A charming cottage with views of Home Lake from every window. Ideal for fishermen being only 30 meters from home lake, the cottage has a tiled storage entrance with steps down into an open plan kitchen, dining/living room. 1 large bedroom contains a double bed and a set of bunks, (divided by curtains for a degree of privacy) making it an economical family cottage. Lake Cottage has night storage heaters and a wood burning stove.

Carp Lodge (6)

A spacious, 2 bedroom wooden lodge with a large kitchen and a lounge/dining area. It sleeps 6 in a double room and room with 2 single beds and a set of bunk beds. It has night storage heating, a large covered veranda and lovely views over Home Lake and woodland.

In all the cottages, electric and electricity is included. There is a small charge for the use of the spa hot tub and sauna. Wi-Fi charged at £10 per week.

Visiting Blackborough & Exploring Devon

South Farm holiday cottages are situated in East Devon in the Blackdown Hills which are known locally as the secret hills due to their tranquil setting, we are central to Devon's many tourist attractions, summer and winter, beaches, moors, market towns, Torquay, Dartmouth and the seaside resorts of Lyme Regis, Beer, Sidmouth and Exmouth, all part of the recently designated Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site. Apart from coarse fishing in our lakes, strolling our quiet lanes and enjoying the birdsong and peace, we have our own access to adjoining Woodland Trust woods. Within walking distance there is also the Sheldon Equestrian Centre, Hollies trout fishery and by prior arrangement we can also arrange a visit to the local milking parlour only a short walk away by footpath. There is also good cycling, along the quiet country lanes.

Rates: From £265 to £1995 per week depending on cottage & season. From £209 -£1120 for a short break.
