Summary

Dram Cottage is a charming holiday home in the heart of the beautiful village of Findhorn, Moray and comfortably sleeps up to six guests. Dating back to around 1843, this traditional one-and-a-half storey fisherman’s cottage sits tucked away in one of Findhorn’s peaceful historic lanes, originally created to link the centre of the village, with its back sheltered from the sea. Lovingly and stylishly updated, the cottage offers a warm and relaxing retreat where families and friends can unwind and create lasting memories together.

Accommodation

Inside, comfort is a priority throughout. The living room features a large wood-burning stove, complete with a copper pot of logs, while underfloor heating warms the dining hall, where a table seats six with ease. The living areas and bedrooms are thoughtfully styled with original artwork, antiques and interesting curios, creating a cosy and characterful atmosphere. Entertainment includes a Sony HD TV with streaming services, a DVD player, Wi-Fi and a selection of games and activities for quieter days indoors.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything keen cooks could need, including an induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine, along with the convenience of a compact dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Sleeping accommodation is designed to be snug and restful, with a small double bedroom downstairs, a comfortable double room upstairs and a twin room ideal for children. The bathroom adds a touch of luxury with a generous heated towel rail and a rainfall-style overhead shower and central heating runs throughout the property.

Outside, guests can enjoy a sheltered sun trap with stylish metal garden furniture, perfect for a morning coffee and pastries from the village bakery, as well as a small rose garden on the other side. Opposite the cottage there is private parking and a large shed for storing bikes, boards, or skis.

Visiting the Area

The dunes, beach and bay are just moments away and the bakery, village shops, Kimberley Inn and Crown and Anchor pub are all just a short stroll.

The surrounding area offers endless opportunities to explore. Findhorn’s vast stretch of unspoilt golden sandy beach provides miles of space to wander, while the nearby dunes, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, lead towards Roseisle or the Findhorn Foundation and Eco Village. For those drawn to the water, a taxi boat across to Culbin reveals even more sweeping sands and dunes, as well as access to Culbin Forest, where a network of trails winds through woodland to peaceful spots such as Dragonfly Pool, The Gut, Otter Pool and Maviston Dunes. Dram Cottage combines sociable village life with privacy and tranquillity, promising a truly special stay.
