Looking for a wee bolthole for you and your family to make special memories and truly unwind? Craigton Croft House, historically once home to a crofting family, is a gem of a property, perfect for couples, families, wildlife lovers, romantics and even the family dog!

Craigton’s stunning location right on the shores of Loch Carron gives guests the opportunity to embrace the great outdoors. If you are in to walking, wild swimming (sometimes with otters or seals for company), kayaking (byo), wildlife spotting, paddling and skimming stones with the kids, enjoying a bbq whilst watching the sun dip over the Bealach Na Ba (Scotland’s high road to Applecross) or cosying up by the log fire with a dram and a good book, this is the place for you.

Craigton Croft House sits by the sea between the world famous Kyle of Lochalsh railway line and the shore. Nestled at the bottom of a private lane with parking for 2 cars, access to the cottage is over the little pedestrian railway crossing which is shared with 1 other property. A handful of local trains pass the cottage each day (they toot and we wave!) plus we have the added bonus of visits from ‘Scotland’s Poshest Train’, The Royal Scotsman and occasionally the odd steam train! Attadale Halt is just a short walk down the road, it’s a request stop so signal to the driver and you can hop aboard one of the local trains for an amazing journey along the loch.

Craigton sleeps up to 4 adults and 2 children in 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin. There is a characterful open plan living/dining/kitchen area with beams, cosy sofas, woodburning stove, a big farmhouse dining table, beautiful panoramic views of the loch and a fully equipped small, but perfectly formed, kitchen area. Many a culinary masterpiece has been produced in this wee Scottish kitchen! At this point we should mention the brilliant Loopy’s fish van, delivering the freshest fish and seafood to our door, what an absolute treat! There is also a bathroom and a shower room plus a utility area with washer/dryer and freezer. Outside we have an enclosed garden with outdoor seating, a built-in bbq, gate opening directly on to the beach and a rustic garden rope swing (a major hit with the kids!).
The cottage also has wifi, tv/dvd and lots of books, maps and board games.

Lochcarron village across the loch is on the NC500 route and offers a range of amenities including two shops, garage, golf course, guided kayaking and boat hire plus a few dining options too. Our nearest pub and restaurant is a 5 minute drive away at Strathcarron and Attadale Gardens is within walking distance. Craigton is perfectly situated for exploring Skye, Plockton, Eilean Donan Castle, the Torridon peaks and Applecross with its award winning Applecross Inn.
