Brockdish Holiday Cottages are charming 17th-century, dog-friendly cottages located on the Norfolk-Suffolk border, situated between the historic market towns of Diss and Harleston in the heart of the picturesque Waveney Valley. The cottages share over two acres of woodland and gardens, which stretch down to the tranquil banks of the River Waveney, offering a peaceful and scenic setting for a relaxing getaway.

Pump Cottage retains many of its original features, including the old well and pump outside. Sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms, the main bedroom features a four-poster double bed while the second bedroom has twin beds, with a travel cot and high chair also available. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, with a washing machine in the laundry room. The lounge comfortably seats four and includes a flat-screen Freeview TV, DVD player, books, games and puzzles. Outside, guests can enjoy a private enclosed patio and over two acres of woodland and gardens leading down to the River Waveney, with private off-road parking for two cars.

The Old Laundry is a cosy ground floor cottage sleeping two, with space for a travel cot. The entrance hall opens into a lounge and dining area, featuring a flat-screen Freeview TV, DVD player with a selection of films, books, games and puzzles. Patio doors lead out to a charming courtyard, perfect for relaxing outdoors. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. The bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, bath, WC and wash basin, plus a hairdryer. Heating is provided by electric radiators and an electric fire and all heating, bedding, towels and tea towels are included in the rental. Outside, there is a patio with seating, over two acres of woodland and gardens to explore, a riverside picnic area and a nearby gazebo for some shade.

Up one flight of stairs, the Hayloft offers a cosy retreat with a well-equipped kitchen featuring an electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave, alongside a lounge and dining area with a flat-screen Freeview TV, DVD player with films and a selection of books, games and puzzles. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and the bathroom includes a bath with overhead shower, WC and wash basin. Heating is provided by electric radiators and all heating, bedding, towels and tea towels are included in the rental.

A shared laundry is also available for guests.

Our holiday homes enjoy a lovely riverside setting, offering a peaceful retreat where nature is never far away. Fishing is available in season with a valid license and wildlife enthusiasts may spot otters playing by the river, barn owls and tawny owls nearby, or even the flash of kingfishers along the water. Each year we look forward to seeing our resident swans return with their cygnets. The village is also crossed by the popular Angles Way footpath along the River Waveney, with plenty of other scenic walks easily accessible, many starting right from the doorstep of the cottages. Just a short stroll away, the historic Old Kings Head offers a café, restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy morning coffee, afternoon tea, freshly cooked meals, local ales and homemade bread.

The Hayloft cannot be booked on its own, but it can be reserved together with The Old Laundry to accommodate up to four people.
