Outside is a lawned courtyard with seating. There is also a secret walled garden with seating. Another part of the garden comes with a pond. Private parking is available for 2 cars.

Visiting Portpatrick & Exploring Dumfries & Galloway

Portpatrick has a lovely harbour and wonderful sea views. This is a popular area for sea fishing and walking. The village has places to eat and several shops.

The nearby town of Stranraer is worth a visit within its Castle of St John. There are plenty of attractions surrounding Sawmill Cottage such as:

Stranraer Museum.
Agnew Park.
Loch Ryan.
Dunskey Castle.
Killantringan Lighthouse.

For an alternative day out, day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan.
