Sheepwash Cottage offers wonderful self catering accommodation in the quaint village of Carsington. The cottage near Matlock in Derbyshire sleeps up to six people and is perfect for families looking for somewhere special to stay. We are close to the Peak District and not far from the market towns of Ashbourne and Wirksworth.

Accommodation

Sheepwash Cottage is perfect for a relaxing holiday away and boasts beautiful views across its own meadow towards Carsington. The cottage is tastefully furnished throughout and is available for short breaks, long weekend, or mid-week breaks.

Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with comfy sofas to unwind on. You can also relax in a smaller room which has books and games. An oak kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need during your stay. Appliances includes induction a hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area seats up to six people and downstairs there is also a shower room with a WC.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and an en suite shower room. The cottage also has a spacious double room and twin room which share a bathroom with a WC. All beds are made before your arrival and all bed linen is provided.

Outside you can relax in the private garden/landscape meadow. The patio area includes garden furniture and a sun umbrella, perfect for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun. A BBQ with a bag of charcoal is provided each week. Guests have access to the fully fenced and gated wildlife pond and from the gardens you can savour glorious views over the fields and reservoir.

We are child friendly and have a cot, stair gates and high chairs.

Visiting Carsington & Exploring Derbyshire

We are ideal for keen walkers and cyclists, with lots of walking trails and off road cycle routes nearby. You can stroll around the village and admire the glorious landscape of the Derbyshire hills. The high peak trail can be reached up a steep lane. Cycling or running opportunities can be found all the way to Tissington. You can go to the Carsington Water Visitors Centre which is only 1.5 miles away or enjoy a range of watersports on offer. Nearby is Wirksworth with its award-winning conservation area, heritage centre, cafes and restaurants. There is also a farmerís market on a Tuesday where you can purchase local produce. Ashbourne has a lovely market square and lots of antique and other shops. Many places to explore are nearby:

The High Peak Trail - an off road cycling/walking trail approximately 1 mile from the property.
