Summary

Waterfoot Park offers self-catering accommodation at Pooley Bridge in the Lake District National Park. We are located on the Ullswater Way footpath which connects by cruise, foot and bus to the four main pier stops around Ullswater.

We have five newly renovated cottages, four self-catering Hive cabins and four Wigwams available for weekly and short lets. Four of the cottages are dog friendly, as well as two Hives and two Wigwams. Next to the apartments, Wigwams and Hives is the Mansion house bar with a fine selection of local ales. Opening times for the bar varies, so please keep an eye out for this. There is also free WiFi in the mansion house.

M. Y Lady of the Lake - Sleeps 4

On entering the cottage the hallway offers ample space for coats and boots before opening onto the spacious kitchen and lounge. The lounge retains the original magnificent feature windows that look out across the grounds and the original stone fireplace complete with cosy log burning stove. The contemporary quality kitchen is well equipped with all you could need and includes dish washer, washer/drier and fridge freezer. The breakfast bar is the idea place to sit with a morning coffee and a slice of toast and the large dining table is ideal for a great home cooked dinner in the evening.

Upstairs the cottage offers two bedrooms, the first a double and the second can either be made up as a double or as a twin room with two 2’6” twin beds, both offer TVs and the second bedroom offers tantalising glimpses of Ullswater across the fields. The bedrooms are complemented with a high quality family bathroom complete with bath with shower over, basin and WC. A glazed door from the lounge opens onto a private patio and a picket gate leads to a shared lawned garden.

M.V Lady Wakefield - Sleeps 5

The front door opens to a hallway with plenty of space for coats and boots and from here steps lead to the landing that leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms. A further small flight of steps open to the bright and airy open, dual aspect, lounge and kitchen. The focus of the room either the large windows looking out across the grounds or the feature fire place complete with log burning stove. A large comfy leather sofa is the idea place to relax in an evening to watch a film and enjoy the stove. The quality kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dish washer and washer drier. The large dining table also takes in the great views and is just the ideal place to sit and enjoy a hearty breakfast or dinner with friends or family. The cottage has three bedrooms, the master bedroom is a welcoming double with ensuite shower room. The second bedroom can be made up either as a double room or as a twin room with two 2’6” twin beds. The third bedroom is a bright single bedroom with views to the grounds. The property offers a high quality family bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Guests are welcome to share the grounds around the estate and the cottage has one parking space with other parking also available on request.

On entering the cottage there is ample space for coats and boots before entering the large open plan living room. The quality fitted kitchen is well appointed with fridge/freezer, washer/drier and dishwasher and has plenty of space to cook and entertain. The patio door from the large lounge and dining area open onto the patio and the large windows flood the room with light and offer views across the grounds. Large, comfortable, leather sofas and a cosy log fire offer the ideal place to relax in an evening and the large dining table is great for socialising in an evening over dinner or to gather the family for breakfast in the morning. Upstairs choose from three bedrooms; the master bedroom with double bed offers TV, lake views and en suite shower room, the second room can be made up either as a double bed or two 2’6” single beds and has a TV and views to the lake. For the third bedroom there is a choice of either a double bedroom with TV and Lake Views or a cosy twin bedded room with two 2’6” twin beds. The bedrooms are complemented with a large family bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. The hallway offers ample space for coats and boots and opens to the open plan living area. The kitchen is well appointed and includes dishwasher, fridge/freezer and dishwasher and offers everything you could need to conjure up a hearty Lakeland breakfast or a dinner of the finest local fare. The family dining table is ideal for socialising with friends or relax in the lounge in the lovely leather sofas in front of the beautiful feature fireplace with cosy log burning stove. The lounge looks out across the patio to the garden and grounds beyond and glimpses of Ullswater can be seen only a few hundred yards away. A feature staircase leads to a large landing offering additional storage and from which there are two bedrooms. The first offers a double bed, TV and views to the lake, the second can either be made up to your choice of either a twin bedded room with two 2’6” single beds. The bedrooms are complemented by a family shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. A glazed door from the lounge opens onto a private patio and a picket gate leads to a shared lawned garden. Guests are also welcome to share the grounds around the estate and the cottage has one parking space with other parking also available on request.

Hive Cabins – Sleeps 4

Our new contemporary 'Hive' self-catering Cabins sleep up to four persons. Inspired by nature inside and out; right down to the outdoor boot and dog wash. Inside you will find an open plan area with a well equipped kitchen (with fridge/freezer, electric hob and microwave), two double sofa beds, TV and dining space for up to four persons. There is also a shower room with toilet. Outside there is a small decking area for alfresco dining. Two of the cabins are dog friendly. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Captain’s Cottage – Sleeps 6

Captain's Cottage is a cosy three-bedroom, two bathroom cottage providing ample holiday accommodation for up to six people, in the heart of Pooley Bridge village, with its quaint array of tea rooms and pubs. Located by Englands most beautiful lake, Ullswater, within the World Heritage Lake District National Park, the holiday cottage sits on the banks of the River Eamont. The holiday cottage is just a five minute walk to the main Ullswater 'Steamers' Pier, cruises operate all year and connect some of the famous and spectacular walking routes around the Round the Lake footpath, The Ullswater Way. On entering the holiday cottage; the hallway offers ample space for coats and boots before opening onto a open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The cottage is fully equipped, including TV and wood burning stove. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is a large enclosed garden to the rear with direct river access.

Please note this holiday cottage does have open access on to the River Eamont at the end of the garden. Children should be supervised at all times.

Visiting Pooley Bridge & Exploring Cumbria

Ullswater, often compared to the likes of Lake Lucerne and referred to as England’s most beautiful lake. The lake runs a serpentine course in three reaches with Helvellyn crowning the plateau at the head of the lake; at 3117 ft it is England’s third highest mountain. Penrith is the local market town and offers all-weather facilities with an indoor swimming pool with a climbing wall, a golf course and excellent shopping, whether it’s for local produce or your high street names.
