Summary

Waterfoot Park offers self-catering accommodation at Pooley Bridge in the Lake District National Park. We are located on the Ullswater Way footpath that connects by cruise, foot and bus to the four main pier stops around Ullswater.

We have five cottages, four self-catering S-Pod Escapes, and four glamping pods. Four of the cottages are dog-friendly, as well as two S-Pods and two glamping pods. Next to the cottages, S-Pods and glamping pods is the Mansion House Bar with a large selection of drinks including local ales.

Lady of the Lake - Sleeps 4

The cottage opens onto the spacious kitchen and lounge. The lounge retains the original magnificent feature windows that look out across the grounds and the original stone fireplace complete with a cosy log-burning stove. The contemporary kitchen is well equipped with all you could need and includes a dishwasher, washer/drier and fridge/freezer. The breakfast bar is the ideal place to sit with a morning coffee while the large dining table is ideal for a great home-cooked dinner in the evening.

Upstairs, the cottage offers two bedrooms, a double and a twin room. Both bedrooms offer TVs and the second bedroom offers tantalising glimpses of Ullswater across the fields. The bedrooms are complemented by a high-quality family bathroom complete with a bath with shower over, basin and WC. A glazed door from the lounge opens onto a private patio and a picket gate leads to a shared lawned garden.

M.V Lady Wakefield - Sleeps 5

The front door opens to a hallway with plenty of space for coats and boots, where steps lead to the landing that continues to the bedrooms and bathrooms. A further small flight of steps opens to the bright and airy open, dual-aspect, lounge and kitchen. The focus of the room is either the large windows looking out across the grounds or the feature fireplace complete with a log-burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/drier. The large dining table also takes in great views.

The cottage is one storey with three bedrooms. The master bedroom is a double with an en suite shower room. The second bedroom is a twin room, and the third bedroom is a bright single bedroom with views of the grounds. The property offers a family bathroom with a bath with shower over, basin and WC. Sorry, no dogs are allowed.

M.Y Raven - Sleeps 8

On entering the cottage there is ample space for coats and boots before entering the large open-plan living room. The fitted kitchen is well appointed with a fridge/freezer, washer/drier and dishwasher and has plenty of space to cook and entertain. The patio door from the large lounge and dining area opens onto the patio and the large windows flood the room with light and offer views across the grounds. Large, comfortable, leather sofas and a cosy log fire offer the ideal place to relax in the evening and the large dining table is great for socialising.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms. The double master bedroom offers lake views and an en suite shower room. The second room is a twin room, with views of the lake. The third bedroom is a double bedroom with lake views, and the fourth bedroom is a cosy twin. There’s a large family bathroom for everyone to use.

Patio doors from the lounge open onto a private patio and a picket gate leads to a shared lawned garden.

M.V Western Belle - Sleeps 4

The hallway offers ample space for coats and boots and opens to the open-plan living area. The kitchen is well appointed and includes a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and offers everything you could need to conjure up a hearty Lakeland breakfast or a dinner of the finest local fare. The family dining table is ideal for socialising. Relax in front of the beautiful feature fireplace with a cosy log-burning stove. The lounge looks out across the self-catering cottage, with a rear patio leading to the garden and grounds beyond. Glimpses of Ullswater can be seen only a few hundred yards away.

A feature staircase leads to a large landing offering additional storage and from which there are two bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom, with a TV and views of the lake, and the second is a twin room. The bedrooms are complemented by a family shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Captain’s Cottage – Sleeps 6

Captain's Cottage is a cosy three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage providing ample holiday accommodation for up to six people, in the heart of the Pooley Bridge village, with its quaint array of tea rooms and pubs. Located by Ullswater, arguably England's most beautiful lake, within the World Heritage Lake District National Park, the holiday cottage sits on the banks of the River Eamont. The holiday cottage is just a five-minute walk to the main Ullswater 'Steamers' Pier, offering cruises all year round, connecting the famous round-the-lake footpath, the Ullswater Way. On entering, the hallway offers ample space for coats and boots before opening onto an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The cottage is fully equipped, including a wood-burning stove. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is a large, enclosed garden to the rear with direct river access.

Please note this holiday cottage has open access to the River Eamont at the end of the garden. Children should be supervised at all times. This holiday cottage is dog-friendly.

S-Pod Escapes – Sleeps 6 (We recommend a maximum of 4 adults in this property or 4 adults and 2 children)

Our stylish and modern S-Pods are the perfect choice for a relaxing break. They feature an open-plan layout with a mezzanine level. There is a double bed situated in the mezzanine area, a double sofa bed on the lower level, and a further small bed can be made up from the seating area. You can enjoy all the comforts of home with a shower room, a spacious kitchen, and a TV. Outside, guests can enjoy private decking areas and parking spaces.

Glamping Pods - Sleeps 4

We have four heated self-catering glamping pods. Each pod can accommodate two adults and up to two children. Each pod is provided with a fixed double bed, a double sofa bed with mattresses, an en suite toilet and a shower room. A kitchenette is also provided which comes complete with a sink, under-counter fridge, kettle, microwave, hob and toaster. There is a dining table with four chairs, a broom, bin, dustpan/brush and chopping board for your use. Outside you will find a picnic table and gravelled area suitable for barbecuing.

Overview

Ullswater is often referred to as England’s most beautiful lake. The lake runs a serpentine course in three reaches with Helvellyn crowning the plateau at the head of the lake; at 3117 ft it is England’s third-highest mountain. Penrith is the local market town and offers all-weather facilities with an indoor swimming pool with a climbing wall, a golf course and excellent shopping, whether it’s for local produce or your high street names.
