Flat 2 Seabirds House

St Ives, Cornwall

Sleeps 1-2
£410 - £850

Summary

Seabirds House is in an ideal location in this lovely little town. Flat 2 is on the first floor at the front of the house. It's cosy, comfortable, modern and bright and the view is truly amazing - certainly one of the very best in St Ives.

Accommodation

A large studio room with a deep bay window gives views of Porthmeor surf beach, the Island, the harbour, St Ives Bay and the north Cornwall coast. It's spectacular.

The comfortable double bed pulls down from a specially designed wall unit, with bedding in place. You can watch the sunrise over the sea from the bed if you wake early enough! In the daytime, just push the bed back up again.

The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and again, has a sea view looking down to Carbis Bay.

There’s a good size bathroom with thermostatic over-bath shower. The flat has gas central heating,

In the flat

Unlimited fibre broadband from Zen Internet - most recommended by Which. Flatscreen TV, Freeview and DVD player. Downstairs in the shared hallway there is a small collection of DVD’s that you can borrow.

There’s a selection of books to borrow (and take home if you want), an OS Explorer map of the area and several guide books, bird and wildflower books. A dictionary. And Scrabble.

The kitchen has an induction hob, electric oven and microwave. It has everything you are likely to need, with good stainless steel saucepans, decent knives kitchen scissors and other tools, pepper mill, garlic press and salad spinner.

Sorry, no pets, and no smoking.

Local shops

The closest general store is Ayr Stores, 4 minutes walk away from Seabirds.
In town there are 2 small Co-op supermarkets – open long hours. There’s also a proper butcher, bakeries etc.
On the way into St Ives at Carbis Bay there is a Tesco supermarket.

Location, St Ives & Cornwall

Seabirds House is a 4 minute walk from the beaches, the harbour, the shops, the Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth's sculpture garden ... it's a great central location in St Ives.It takes a bit longer to get back to the flat, as the hill is steep - very good exercise! It's because we're quite high up that the view is so spectacular - hard to photograph because it’s so panoramic.

There are many good restaurants pubs and interesting shops and galleries in St Ives and most are open all year round. It’s a lively and welcoming place at any time. There are fabulous walks along the cliffs too – including a relatively short one around the “Island” And to explore Cornwall more widely, you might like to visit:

St Michael's Mount at Marazion
Geevor Tin Mine Museum at Pendeen
Museum of Global Communications at Porthcurno
The Minack Open Air Theatre, also Porthcurno.
Cape Cornwall
Lands End
The Eden Project.

Parking

I’m sorry, we have no parking that we are able to offer with Flat2. We have applied to rent a space from the Council but the waiting list is very long.

The nearby carpark is £15 - £25 for a full week according to season, using a Rover ticket bought online in advance from Cornwall Council, but finding a space can be a serious headache in the summer. We can give you more information about parking options – just ask.

Rates

From £410 - £850 per week depending on season. Short breaks are often available, minimum 3 nights.
