Raera Farm offers two self-catering properties set in an idyllic location just 9 miles south of Oban. Situated beside the tranquil River Euchar, the estate provides a peaceful retreat in the heart of the beautiful Scottish countryside. The accommodation comprises a two-bedroom cottage and a cosy one-bedroom flat situated above it, both enjoying lovely views of the surrounding landscape.
Sleeps 5 people in 2 bedrooms. It has a fitted kitchen with dining table, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. There is electric heating throughout as well as a wood-burning stove in the sitting room. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower above it.
Sleeps 2/3 people in 1 bedroom. It is accessed via an outside staircase. It has an open plan, kitchen/dining/living area. The bedroom has 1 double. The bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment incorporated into the taps.
The estate extends to approximately 450 acres and includes an ancient oak forest. Raera is a working hill farm with sheep, hens, and sometimes young cattle.
The area is rich in wildlife, including foxes, otters pine martens and red squirrels. Sighting of buzzards and herons are common with occasional sightings of golden eagles. The Euchar is a beautiful spate river. Its waterfall has featured in films, including 'Ring of Bright Water'. You may be lucky enough to see a salmon leaping!
The splendid west coast town of Oban with its fine harbour and renowned McCaig's Tower is reached in minutes (9 miles) and has daily ferry sailings to Mull and the Outer Isles. Oban has a variety of shops, post office, banking facilities, garages, many fine hotels and the exciting, hilly golf course at Glencruitten Golf Club.
