Saughmont Cottage is a renovated farm cottage. It is close to the town of Carmyllie, a rural parish in Angus. The village is high up between Arbroath and Forfar. There is lovely open countryside with distant views to Grampians and Bell Rock Lighthouse in the North Sea. This original croft is perfect for a peaceful relaxing holiday.
AccommodationThe cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and is fully equipped.
It can sleep six and consists of three bedrooms; a four poster with en suite bathroom and two twin rooms. The family bathroom has a shower and whirlpool bath. Each room has been decorated in neutral, relaxing colours.
The property is heated by oil fired central heating and a log burner in the lounge. All electricity and linen is included in price. There is a cot and a high chair for any toddlers in your group.
Outside is an enclosed garden with stunning views.
Visiting Carmyllie & Exploring AngusCarmyllie is a quaint location only having a church and school.
Arbroath is the nearest town. It has long sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs. The town is most famous for its smokie which is line caight haddock, smoke cured over smouldering oak chips.
This area is ideal for golfinig, river and loch fishing, beaches and castles. There is excellent hillwalking in the Angus Glens.
Carnoustie Championship Golf Course is only five miles away. Montrose with its spectacular tidal basin is a haven for a variety of wild birds.
Visit Dundee, city of RRS Discovery, with Verdant Works, Dundee Centre for the Arts, HMS Unicorn, Dundee Repertory Theatre and a variety of shops offering an interesting day out.
Angus has lots of exciting things to see and do. Each of its seven towns has its own unique features. The county has great transport links to Scotland's main cities.
