Accommodation

Situated in an designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are ideal for an idyllic holiday away. Edge Farm sleeps 12 people and the 200 year old farmhouse has recently been tastefully refurbished to a very high standard providing modern, well equipped and comfortable accommodation. The property is ideal for large families or groups of walkers or friends.

South facing, Edge Farm boasts spectacular views, lawned garden, waterfall, covered pond and ample parking for up to six vehicles. There is a large patio area with garden furniture and a giant chess set as well. Inside Edge Farm the sympathetic renovation has retained it original character and many original features remain. The property is fully centrally heated with underfloor heating on the ground floor.

The kitchen includes: fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and electric ceramic range cooker. There is also a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a downstairs toilet. The large lounge has an ornate fireplace with wood burning stove. For guest entertainment there is widescreen TV with Sky, a video, DVD and Hi-Fi. There is also a separate dining room.

Upstairs are 4 double bedrooms and a house bathroom with shower / bath. Two of the bedrooms have en suite facilities and one has an en suite shower room and the master bedroom has a bath / shower and Jacuzzi. There is a large bedroom in the attic with 4 single beds. All sheets are 100% Egyptian Cotton.

Short breaks are available.

Local Area

Nidderdale is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Edge Farm is ideally suited for walkers as the Nidderdale Way runs along the back of the farm. There are many walks and bridleways in the upper dale and further up the valley are two reservoirs, Angram and Scar House, overlooked by Great and Little Whernside. Other neighbouring dales include Lower Wensleydale, Coverdale, Wharfedale and Uredale.

Lofthouse village is 3 miles down the road and has one pub, The Crown, which serves excellent food and ale. Local places of interest include How Stean Gorge, (known locally as Little Switzerland), with its bridges, caves and gorge walks and a cafe where lunches and snacks are served. Brimham Rocks, Stump Cross Caverns and the market town of Pateley Bridge are all worth a visit. Gouthwaite Reservoir is a sanctuary for rare bird species.
