Glenturk Luxury Holiday Cottages are set amid rolling farmland with spectacular views of the Galloway Hills and the Wigtown Bay Estuary. We are in South West Scotland close to Newton Stewart, an ideal base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway.

Wigtown Holiday Cottage

This cottage has an open plan kitchen/dining area, which leads into a large lounge. Exit the lounge via the patio doors, onto a limestone patio where there is garden furniture and a BBQ.

Upstairs consists of one large romantic double bedroom with an adjacent en suite bathroom. This room has patio doors leading to a private raised patio and lovely views over open farmland to Wigtown, perched on its hill. The second bedroom upstairs is a twin bedded room with small en suite shower room.

Galloway Cottage

This cottage is open plan with a luxurious large and airy lounge. The lounge leads into fully fitted kitchen/dining area with doors onto the patio. The patio is complete with its own garden furniture and barbeque. On the ground floor there is also a lovely airy double bedroom with large adjacent bathroom with separate shower. This bedroom also has doors onto the patio.

Upstairs consists of one double bedroom with a small en suite shower room. This room has spectacular views of the Dumfries and Galloway Hills and Wigtown Bay through its large window/door and Juliet balcony. The second bedroom upstairs is a twin bedded room with small en suite shower room.

Visiting Wigtown & Exploring Dumfries & Galloway

The centre of Wigtown is less than 2 miles from our accommodation. This allows guests to enjoy all the benefits of town life, whilst being able to rest at the end of the day in the countryside. The town is home to the annual Wigtown Book Festival and has a range of independent book shops.

Seven miles from Wigtown is Newton Steward. This market town is on the banks of the River Cree and is surrounded by beautiful Gallway Hills. It is popular with walkers and mountain bikers, due to its proximity to Galloway Forest Park.

Alternatively, during your stay you can:

Play golf on the numerous excellent local courses.
Visit the famous Turnberry Hotel which is just 40 minutes away.
Visit Kirroughtree Forest Park with its excellent walking and cycling.
Visit a Scottish whisky distillery at Bladnoch.

For the more adventurous, the 7Stanes mountain biking trails are close by.
