The Old School offers self catering accommodation in Careston. The charming hamlet is near the town of Brechin in Angus. The tastefully converted old primary school sleeps up to six people and is set in beautiful farmland.

Accommodation

The Old School offers relaxing and comfortable accommodation in an award winning property.

On the ground floor is a spacious lounge with open fire, TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, sofas and arm chairs. You can savour the views over the fields from here. A fully equipped kitchen includes everything you will need during your stay: electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dish washer. You can wine and dine on the dining table which seats up to six people.

A spiral staircase leads to the first floor which comprises of three bedrooms. Bedroom one comes with a king size bed and en suite bathroom. Bedroom two has a double with en suite facilities and bedroom three comes with two single beds and an en suite bathroom. All the beds are made ready for your arrival.

All bed linen and towels are included. The first supply of logs is provided.

Outside is a spacious garden with outdoor furniture. You can sit back, relax and enjoy far reaching views.

Visiting Careston & Exploring Angus

The small hamlet of Careston is the perfect base to explore the wider area. Fishing is nearby. The North Esk is famous for its excellent Migratory salmon and sea trout runs between the 16th of February until the 31st of October season, however the South Esk is virtually on the doorstep and the Finavon Castle Waters are equally exciting and under four miles away. Arbroath offers a variety of Sea angling opportunities that can also be twinned with some site seeing with the Bell Rock lighthouse only 11 miles offshore. Many places to explore are nearby:

Explore The House of Dun.
Enjoy Dunninald House and Gardens.
Stroll along the beaches and cliffs.
Visit St Cyrus Nature Reserve for bird watching.

Golfing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice. The area has 25 courses within 25 miles. The nearest Golf course is Brechin, with Edzell only 10 minutes away with its 18 and 9 hole courses and driving range. Montrose with its Medal course, which is the 5th oldest golf course in world and the less well known Broomfield course (ideal for beginners and higher handicap golfers), is only 20 minutesí drive away. Carnoustie with its three courses is only 30 minutes away.
