It is the perfect base for touring the north west Highlands and is well situated to reach the Isle of Skye and probably one of the most iconic images of Scotland the word famous Eileen Donan castle, both just over 1 hour away and the famous Inverewe Gardens are 26 miles to the west.
The village has a shop/post office, a hotel (which has a public bar and serves meals) a petrol station and a cafe. In Gairloch 20 miles to the west, there is a Bank of Scotland a butcher and various other shops and cafes as well as a nine hole golf course and leisure centre.
