14 Aultgrishan on the west coast of the beautiful Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands, offers superb self catering accommodation. The former croft cottage has a stunning uninterrupted panoramic sea view to Skye and the Western Isles, with fantastic sunsets throughout the year. It is the perfect place to get away from it all, relax and enjoy the very best of the Highlands.

Accommodation

The self catering cottage is modernised with electric central heating and is double glazed throughout.

Ground Floor: There is a sitting room with log burning stove and window seat. There is also a dining/ Kitchen area with seating for 6. The ground floor includes a twin bedroom and bathroom with shower over the bath.

Upper Floor: There is a master (double) bedroom and single bedroom with one single bed and one slightly smaller 'guest' type bed if required for a sixth guest.

Sitting room The West facing room enjoys fantastic sea views which can be enjoyed from the window seat. The log burner is perfect for cosy nights in. The sitting room includes a flat screen TV (freeview) and DVD player. There is seating for up to 6 people.

Ground Floor Bedroom The West facing room enjoys lovely sea views and is furnished with two sturdy single pine beds and pine chest of drawers.

First Floor Master Bedroom - Double bedroom with large picture windows to the front and rear. King size iron framed bed. Bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Electric panel heater.

Bathroom - White bathroom suite with WC, basin and bath with instant electric shower (over the bath) and shower screen.

First Floor Single/Twin Room - Furnished with a single bed in pine/white with pull-out single bed (guest type).

Kitchen The kitchen is spacious and well equipped dining kitchen. The kitchen dining table seats up to 6. The kitchen is very well equipped with an electric ceramic hob, oven with grill, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine, kettle, toaster etc.

Safety - A stair gate is provided however you should be aware that the arrangement at the top of stair means that the gate cannot be properly fitted in that location. The gate is therefore fitted across the (single/twin) bedroom door on the upper floor. A second stair gate is provided, for fitting at the foot of the stair. Please use with care. The stair has a single handrail on the right (when ascending). There is a spark guard and fire guard for the open fire which should be used at all times.

Outside there is a patio area (new for 2016) to the front of the cottage with a bench and chairs to sit and enjoy outside dining and watch the sunset.

Local Area

The beach at Melvaig is a five minute walk away, accessed via a roadway past the former Melvaig Inn. A short walk south at low tide takes you to the wonderful sandy beach below the steep slopes at Peterburn. You are likely to have this to yourselves! (There is a short climbing pitch here with fixings). You can also access the beach on foot from the road at Peterburn.

There are a number of boat trips available from the pier at Gairloch. Our favourite is the sea life trip operated by the Gairloch Marine Life Centre. However there is also a glass bottomed boat trip and whale watching trips. Gairloch has a nine hole course which is located behind the beach in Gairloch. They offer club and trolley hire.
