Huntingball Lodge is an elegant, quiet country house that enjoys beautiful views of Blue Anchor Bay near Dunster. Nestled in a lovely part of rural Somerset and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, our accommodation is the perfect base for a relaxing break. This elegant and quiet country house comprises of three holiday apartments, which are open all year round.

About Huntingball Lodge

Our holiday accommodations are in an elevated position in its own park-like grounds of 1.5 acres. From every apartment, there are the most spectacular and far reaching views across the bay and along the West Somerset coast, towards the medieval village of Dunster and its castle and up to Dunkery Beacon (highest point on Exmoor), the Brendon Hills and surrounding Exmoor countryside. Each holiday cottage is exceedingly spacious, well furnished and uniquely individual in design.

Avalon - Sleeps 3

An attractive, ground floor apartment, with two bedrooms (one double, one single), entrance porch, large kitchen/dining room, lounge, bathroom with shower and separate toilet. The spacious double bedroom boasts original oak panelling which continues into the hall and lounge. The lounge has picture windows on two sides to take advantage of the spectacular views and a door leads out onto a large private patio.

Beacon - Sleeps 5

This self catering apartment is an extremely large, two bedroom first-floor apartment (one double, one twin), with an equally large kitchen/dining room and spacious inner reception hall. Well fitted bathroom with shower. Its superb lounge offers sweeping 180-degree views over the bay and surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills. Both the bedrooms also have this fantastic outlook. A large private roof terrace with patio furniture completes the picture!

Dunster - Sleeps 5

This spacious two bedroom holiday cottage (one double, one twin), second-floor apartment has the most magnificent views from its lounge and large roof terrace. The main double bedroom is the largest in Huntingball measuring 26’ x 14’ and boasts glorious views across the gardens and sea. The twin bedroom has superb views across the surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills. There is also a fully fitted kitchen/dining room overlooking the sea and a well-appointed bathroom with shower.

Visiting Blue Anchor & Exploring Somerset

There are two pubs within easy walking distance and a local tea room. Just ten minutes walk along the seafront there is a convenience store/newsagents together with a small indoor swimming pool. Railway enthusiasts will love the West Somerset Steam Railway, which runs between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, and which stops at the station at the far end of Blue Anchor Bay just a 15-minute stroll from the house. There is so much to do and see, no matter what the season, in this beautiful part of the West Country.

From visiting the picturesque and historic towns and villages, walking, riding, cycling through the unspoilt countryside and across the moors or taking a trip on the Steam Railway. Or simply just curl up with a good book in the comfort of your apartment and admire the spectacular scenery (with perhaps a glass of the famous local cider!). You’ll be spoilt for choice!
