The self catering accommodation comprises two bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor with disabled access and bathroom, the other is on the first floor (also with bathroom). Both bedrooms sleep two guests in either twin or superking size double beds. There is also a very comfortable double sofa bed in the ground floor lounge and a single sofa bed on the large first floor mezzanine landing, both areas benefitting from all the light and space afforded by huge, double storey, feature windows which really give the feel of sleeping under the stars should you choose to open the blinds! A travel cot and high chair is available for younger guests on request.
Downstairs, there is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fan-assisted oven, grill and hob and washer/dryer and a separate lounge and dining room with flat screen TV with 'Freeview' and DVD player. There is also a good choice DVDs, books and board games to entertain and free Wi-Fi internet access is available along with music CD player with ipod dock. The holiday cottage enjoys its' own outside space with large private south-facing garden mainly laid to lawn and large patio and BBQ facilities. There is ample parking for several cars and a designated parking space for The Cottage.
As its name suggests, The Courtyard Suite is a self contained suite of rooms offering guests the extra luxury of more spacious accommodation, more flexibility in length of stay and the option of staying on either a bed & breakfast or self-catering basis as preferred.
Overlooking a small, pretty courtyard and open countryside, The self catering suite comprises one superking size double/twin bedroom with separate dressing room, very spacious lounge/dining room with patio doors, small kitchenette (with fridge, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle) and bathroom with shower. The addition of a very comfortable memory foam double sofa bed and a smaller sofa bed in the lounge allows small families or groups of up to five guests to stay together.
The Courtyard Suite is fitted out to the same high standard as Creech View Cottage, with solid oak floors and doors, exposed ceiling beams and finished with very comfortable and tasteful furnishings. The stylish 'Heritage' bathroom also offers a powerful shower.
The lounge is complete with TV & FreeView, DVD player and guests have use of free Wi-Fi internet access. here is a choice of two continental buffet breakfast menu options, brought to the door at extra cost.
Outside, guests have use of the large front lawn area with picnic tables, croquet pitch, access to countryside walks from our land and are free to visit our sheep and chicken paddock.
Englands smallest city of Wells, with its impressive Cathedral is well worth a visit and lunch in the cathedral is particularly enjoyable! The historic town of Glastonbury (10 miles) is world renowned for its Abbey and Gardens as well as its annual music festival. The panoramic views of rolling countryside afforded by a walk up the hill to Glastonbury Tor Tor as rewarding as The Tor itself! For those who love to shop, the town of Street (10 miles) is home to Clarks Village Retail Outlet, where numerous designer label retail outlets offer generous discounts and makes this a perfect destination for a spot of 'retail therapy'.
Fleet Air Arm Museum (12 miles), Haynes Motor Museum (6 miles), The East Somerset Steam Railway (Cranmore, 4 miles), Cheddar Caves (21 miles) and Wookey Hole (11 miles) all make great family days out. Longleat Safari Park and The National Trust stately homes and gardens of Montacute House, Stourheadand Lytes Cary can be reached in less than 30mins by car. The city of Bath with its Roman Spa, museums and designer shopping is only forty a minute drive away and with a Park & Ride sited conveniently en-route, accommodation at Longhill offers a very cost effective alternative to staying in or around Bath itself. The city of Bristol is also only about an hours drive away and boasts theatres, shopping centres, The SS Great Britain, @Bristol hands-on science museum, art galleries and many more attractions.
For those who play golf, we have two excellent courses nearby. The Mendip Golf Club at Shepton Mallet (8 miles) provides excellent award-winning facilities and its elevated position affords panoramic views across seven counties and Wheathill Golf Club near Castle Cary (3 miles). We are situated just seven miles from Wincanton Racecourse where race meetings take place throughout the year.
