Orchard Cottage offers outstanding self catering accommodation in the hamlet of Hopton Heath, surrounded by the Shropshire hills, country lanes and tranquil countryside. We are close to Craven Arms and only 10 miles from both Bishop’s Castle and Ludlow.

Accommodation

This former’s blacksmith’s forge has been beautifully converted and offers gorgeous original features, including oak beams. The cottage sleeps up to 3 people and is based on a rural smallholding.

This cosy, beamed lounge has a toasty wood burner, comfortable seating, satellite TV and enjoys delightful views over the garden. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a 4-ring gas hob and full-size electric oven, microwave and fridge with a small freezer compartment.

The bedroom comes with a lovely king-size bed and boasts superb views over the garden. A further drop-down single bed is in the lounge and can be made available by prior arrangement. The bathroom has a bath and shower over, plus underfloor heating and a towel rail. All bed linen and towels are included.

Outside there is a pretty cottage garden with sitting and dining areas. Great spots for al fresco dining whilst admiring views over the South Shropshire’s rolling hills.

Visiting Hopton Heath & Exploring Shropshire

We are in a brilliant location for exploring the Border country, based on the edge of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. We are near Offas Dyke, lots of stunning National Trust properties and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. In Ludlow, you can browse the interesting shops or try one of the fabulous restaurants, whilst many festivals are held regularly. Excellent activities in the area include walking, golf, cycling, mountain bikes, horse riding and horse riding. Great attractions to visit include:

Ludlow Museum.
Mortimer Forest.
National Trust - Berrington Hall.
Stokesay Court.
