In a spectacular position on the shores of Loch Linnhe, with panoramic views across the loch to the mountains of Kingairloch beyond, this charming semi-detached cottage forms part of the original Ferryhouse dating from around 1770. With a fascinating historical background, The Old Ferryhouse has been sympathetically modernised to create a holiday home of distinctive character with many original features in a distinctive and scenic setting.
This recently refurbished 2-bedroom cottage has a lounge and a sun lounge with excellent views over Loch Linnhe. The accommodation consists of a double and twin room, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and sunlounge with panoramic views over Loch Linnhe. Kitchen and utility facilities include a fridge, microwave, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A dryer and additional freezer are located in the garage. There is off-road parking for up to two cars. The enclosed front and rear gardens include a path leading down to the beach and outdoor seating.. The lockable garage is available for bike and equipment storage. There is excellent free WiFi throughout the Old Ferryhouse.
Situated about 50 m from the local store and within walking distance of two award-winning restaurants, The Old Ferryhouse is an ideal base for exploring local attractions in Argyll. The very picturesque village of Port Appin is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, and Oban is within a 35-minute drive. A short drive takes you to The Old Inn at Portnacroish, and just beyond that is the Castle Stalker View Cafe. Day trips can be enjoyed to Glencoe and Fort William, or by taking the passenger ferry from Port Appin across to the island of Lismore. Cycle and boat hire can be arranged locally, and other activities include fishing, pony trekking and hill-walking.
