Reached by a quiet country lane from the charming village of Ravenstonedale, just a mile away, it offers a secluded and calming escape where peace, space and nature take centre stage.

Accommodation


The accommodation is arranged over two floors, with the ground floor comprising a welcoming entrance hall, two bedrooms made up as one double and one twin, a bathroom with a three-piece suite and separate shower and a utility room with washing and drying facilities, ironing equipment, and all bed linen and towels provided. Upstairs, the light-filled lounge and dining area features a multi-fuel stove and patio doors opening onto a secluded balcony with views across the surrounding fells, while the well-equipped kitchen includes an additional dining area and the landing offers a small library with local guides and maps.

The cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable stay, with modern appliances, night storage heating, electricity included and fuel provided for the wood-burning stove. A cot and high chair are available on request and a lock-up shed offers secure storage for outdoor equipment.

Outside, a large, secluded garden sits within open countryside and is alive with wildlife, from birds to rabbits and hares, with garden furniture provided during the summer months and a barbecue available on request, alongside spacious private off-road parking.

Visiting the Area


Snowdrop Cottage makes an excellent base for walking, mountain biking, fishing and exploring the Eden Valley and beyond, with access to local fells directly from the doorstep and no need to drive. Dogs are warmly welcomed and guests can enjoy the calm, restorative atmosphere of this special location. The Eden Valley, set within the extended Yorkshire Dales National Park, offers wide open, uncrowded countryside with excellent opportunities for walking, cycling, birdwatching, golf and fishing close to Snowdrop Cottage. The nearby market town of Kirkby Stephen is just four miles away, with Sedbergh, Kendal, Penrith and Barnard Castle all within easy reach, each offering a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Ideally positioned for exploring further afield, the cottage also provides easy access to the Pennine Hills, the Lake District, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, making it a perfect base for discovering a diverse range of landscapes and attractions.
