Carpenter’s Barn is a small barn conversion located in Pillerton Hersey, Warwickshire. Once a workshop for the village manor, it is now self catering accommodation and sits quietly within the large front garden of our smallholding. The cottage offers a peaceful, comfortable and well-equipped retreat, sleeping up to three guests in one double bedroom and one single bedroom.
Opening the front door, you are welcomed into a light and airy hallway that immediately sets a warm and inviting tone. From here, there is access to the downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin, a spacious cupboard for coats and a well-equipped utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board and a full-sized freezer.
An internal door leads through to the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, which is tastefully decorated and thoughtfully arranged for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double electric oven, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher, four-ring electric hob, kettle and toaster, along with a well-planned workspace. Please note that while a wood-burning stove is installed, it is not currently in use.
The dining space and two separate seating areas offer plenty of choice for relaxing and socialising. You can dine in comfort, sit by the French windows and enjoy views of the garden and visiting wildlife, or open the doors onto the terrace on warmer days. Alternatively, settle into comfortable armchairs to watch television or enjoy a good book on cooler evenings. Freeview TV, a DVD player, along with a selection of DVDs, puzzles and board games, are provided for entertainment and relaxation.
Stairs lead up from the living area to the landing, where you will find a double bedroom with Freeview TV, a single bedroom and a shower room. The shower room features a walk-in shower cubicle, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Both bedrooms enjoy lovely views across the garden.
Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included in your stay. Outside, the terrace is furnished with a small table and chairs for al fresco dining and the adjacent carport provides space for bicycles. There is also room for a second car on the driveway beyond the carport.
From the garden gate, a footpath leads through the paddocks where you may meet our small flock of Soay sheep and occasionally a pony or two. Continuing down the hill brings you to a bridge where you can join the wider network of footpaths that wind through the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Set in a peaceful rural setting, this welcoming holiday cottage offers the best of countryside living while remaining within easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and the Cotswolds. The surrounding area is rich in National Trust properties, historic castles, gardens and popular attractions. Located on the edge of the small village of Pillerton Hersey, the property is bordered by open countryside, with scenic walking routes beginning right from the garden gate. Places to visit include:
