The Directors Suite is a self-contained holiday apartment for eight guests, set within a large listed building in the village of Loddon. Its location offers convenient access to the Norfolk Broads, the beautiful Norfolk coastline and the historic city of Norwich.
Occupying the entire first floor of the Georgian wing, the suite consists of a series of elegant rooms that once served as offices for directors and senior managers. These spaces have now been carefully restored to reflect the grandeur they would have enjoyed in the early 1900s, when the building was a distinguished family home.
The apartment features four spacious double bedrooms, including the striking Gold Room and three bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a breakfast bar, while the expansive living room, formerly the boardroom, offers an eight-person dining table, comfortable sofas and armchairs and a television, making it an ideal place to relax and socialise. While the kitchen and bathrooms feature modern fittings and appliances, many repurposed and reclaimed items, such as shelving made from old desktops, have been incorporated to retain the character of the space. The Directors Suite is particularly well suited to groups of friends or extended families looking to spend time together.
Three of the bedrooms offer king-size beds, the Gold, Grey and Pink Rooms, with the Pink Room also able to convert into a twin if needed. The fourth bedroom, the Blue Room, contains a queen-size bed. Guests have access to a large bathroom known as the Jungle Room, as well as two smaller bathrooms, Cappuccino and Little, each fitted with a shower, washbasin and toilet. A cot and high chair can be provided and bed linen and towels are included.
The building offers its own rear car park with ample parking, as well as secure storage for bicycles and motorcycles. A short walk through the garden, which guests are welcome to enjoy, leads to the rear courtyard. From there, entry to the Directors Suite is through the ground floor lobby, with an internal staircase providing access to the first-floor apartment.
Loddon is a picturesque and welcoming village in the heart of Norfolk, offering easy access to the Norfolk Broads, a stunning network of rivers and lakes perfect for exploring by foot, bike or boat. The village is rich in character, with historic buildings, a selection of independent shops and handy amenities such as a post office, chemist and supermarket. Visitors can admire the impressive 15th-century Church of the Holy Trinity, follow peaceful trails along Wherryman’s Way beside the River Yare or enjoy wildlife spotting on scenic local walks. The Loddon Staithe provides a lovely spot to watch boats drift by or to set off on your own canoeing adventure, while day boats can also be hired in nearby Beccles. With cafés, pubs and takeaways all within easy reach, Loddon offers plenty of options for a relaxed bite to eat after a day of exploring.
