Picture arriving at Marrington Estate through its historic stone gateway, where the former gate house lodge sits quietly beside the road leading to the village of Chirbury with its ancient church, small shop and traditional bakery. The Lodge provides a warm and inviting escape for up to six guests, blending comfort with thoughtful style and offering wide-reaching views over the surrounding landscape. Situated in rural south Shropshire, Marrington is a peaceful private estate of luxury holiday cottages where visitors can unwind, make use of complimentary car charging and immerse themselves in the calm of the countryside.
The Lodge is the newest addition to the estate’s collection and features a fully fitted kitchen where you can watch sheep grazing in the surrounding fields before gathering around the oak table in the separate dining room. The elegantly decorated lounge includes a log burner and French windows opening onto the large lawned rear garden. Downstairs also offers a shower room, a separate utility with laundry facilities and a games room to enjoy after dinner.
Upstairs, the staircase opens onto a cosy seating area ideal for reading or simply admiring the Shropshire views. The three well-appointed bedrooms are arranged around the family bathroom. One bedroom has a king-size bed, another a double, and the third features a zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as a super-king or as twin beds.
Outside, a large and secure private garden provides plenty of space for guests and their dogs to enjoy. A hot tub with a view and a firepit offer the chance for outdoor relaxation and feasting, while the front of the property provides ample parking for three cars.
The Dingle Valley Walk invites guests to wander into a landscape full of quiet magic, tracing the River Camlad as it weaves through shaded woods and secluded clearings. Wildlife reveals itself only to the patient, adding moments of surprise to the journey. Marrington’s dramatic river gorge and sweeping valley edges create unforgettable routes for walkers, offering a true sense of the area’s natural beauty. Ancient footpaths twist through the countryside, where a flash of a kingfisher or the gentle disturbance of an otter or trout in the water reminds visitors that the valley is alive with hidden activity, waiting to be found.
