Situated on the lane leading from Marrington Lodge to Marrington Hall, Wellingtonia Cottage enjoys a stunning view across the park and over the Shropshire hills. True to its name, two striking Wellingtonia trees stand sentinel in the rolling front garden, adding character and sense of place to the property. Marrington itself is a private estate made up of luxury holiday cottages, situated deep in the heart of south Shropshire. Guests are encouraged to settle in, recharge their car at no cost, kick off their shoes and reconnect with nature.
The four-bedroom house offers a sociable ground floor layout with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen that flows into a stylish dining and lounge area before opening into a bright and airy conservatory. A separate, elegantly furnished sitting room with a log burner provides an additional space to unwind, ensuring there is plenty of room for family and friends to relax together or find a quieter corner.
Upstairs, the staircase leads to four bright and sunny bedrooms. One features an ensuite and a king-size bed, another offers a zip-and-link bed that can be set as a super-king or twin, a third contains a king-size bed, and the fourth is a smaller room with handmade full-size bunk beds. The family bathroom completes the upstairs accommodation, complemented by an additional toilet and cloakroom on the ground floor. Outside, a large walled private garden sits in front of the house, boasting breathtaking views, a hot tub and a firepit, along with ample parking space for four cars.
Guests can step into a world of natural wonder with the Dingle Valley Walk, following the River Camlad through whispering woodlands and hidden glades, with the chance of spotting elusive wildlife along the way. Marrington’s spectacular river gorge and valley crests offer exceptional walking opportunities, inviting visitors to experience nature in all its richness. Public footpaths wind through ancient routes where one might glimpse a kingfisher diving for its supper or hear the splash of an otter or brown trout moving along the Camlad, ensuring there is always something new to discover.
