Ardgowan is a beautiful self catering holiday home that is adjacent to the Roxburghe Golf course in Heiton. Heiton is a beautiful Scottish village that is only a short drive from the large market town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
About ArdgowanThe holiday home is a large detached house that can sleep up to 6 people and it has been tastefully decorated and furnished to provide comfortable, relaxing and restful holiday accommodation that is ideally located for visiting this spectacular part of Scotland.
On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen and a sun filled breakfast room. This leads on to a tranquil living room where there are comfy sofas and a gas fire that creates a warm and welcoming environment to relax in at any time of day.
There are 3 bedrooms, which will be made up ready for your arrival. The master en suite bedroom features a super king-size bed and has an attached small room with a wooden cot. The second en suite bedroom which overlooks the garden has a king size bed and the third bedroom is set up with twin beds. There is also a family bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom.
Outside there is a large garden and patio to enjoy or inside there are plenty of board games, books and DVDs to enjoy during your stay.
Rates: From £460 - £975 per week depending on season.

Local shops & amenities
The beautiful historic town of Kelso has an extensive range of local shops including an award-winning butcher, some quality bakers and an excellent fishmonger. There is also a great deli, as well as 2 small Co-op supermarkets, a Lidl store and a Sainsbury superstore. The Sainsbury store is approximately 5 minutes’ drive from Ardgowan and is off a large roundabout on the approach to Kelso.
Kelso also has a post office, several banks, a health centre, and chemists, as well as a number of boutiques and gift shops.
Outdoor pursuits are catered for in the town by knowledgeable outlets such as Orvis and Tweedside Tackle who cater for fishing, shooting, and hiking enthusiasts.
Places to eat
There is a range of restaurants making good use of local produce in the town and surrounding area. In Kelso these include the Contented Vine, Oscars Wine Bar & Restaurant, No. 36 Restaurant (within The Cross Keys Hotel) and The Cobbles Inn.
In Heiton can be found The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Club (01573 450 331). Only a ten minute walk or a short drive from Ardgowan, the Hotel is open to non-residents, including its fine dining Chez Roux restaurant. The Roxburghe serves lunches, traditional afternoon teas and evening meals as well as a wonderful selection of wines or malts. Treatments are also offered by their Beauty Room.
On the road from Heiton to Jedburgh is The Teviot Smokery & Water Gardens which has a lovely restaurant, superb local produce shop and garden centre. Also near here is The Caddy Mann, an award-winning restaurant. It serves delicious lunches, and also opens on Friday and Saturday evenings, providing some of the best dining in the area (booking essential).
Leaflets in the house provide further information on local events, sports facilities or activities such as golf, archery, clays, horse riding, coastal pursuits or art classes to name. There is also a Tourist Information Office in Kelso (open between Easter and October).
