All cottages are just a 30 minute drive from sandy beaches and are perfectly positioned to make the most of a holiday in Scotland’s Border country. They each enjoy access to walks in the extensive grounds, which include deciduous woodland, hill vistas, a nature reserve and a splendid lake. Pavilion Lodge

Ground floor: Curved living room with open fire looking east and west, kitchen diner, modern bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Steepish carpeted stairs to first floor: curved double bedroom. Outside seat, parking for one car. Only five minutes’ walk to town and shops.

Coach House

Behind the Dower House (St Mary’s) is this unusal peaceful cottage for 2/3 at the far end of the Duns Castle lake ( the Hen Poo’).

Property details: Ground floor: Dining kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: Living room with sofabed, windows to east and west, study leads to spacious double bedroom. Outside grassed area, parking for two cars. Perfect for estate walks.

Azalea Cottage

Azalea Cottage is a secluded former gardener’s abode set in 1900 acres of tranquil parkland on the historic Duns Castle estate.

Formerly the gardener’s cottage, this delightfully secluded, 19th century stone built holiday cottage is set amidst a profusion of azaleas and mature shrubs just a short walk from the lake. Azalea Cottage sleeps up to four people comfortably in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one ensuite, a modern kitchen and separate dining room.

Cedar Cottage

Cedar Cottage is an attractively positioned cottage set in tranquil parkland on the historic Duns Castle estate. With all accommodation on one level, this four-bedroomed property sleeps eight people comfortably; one kingsize ensuite, one double and one twin sharing bathroom, one bunk bedroom. Set in its own secluded garden looking onto fields and castle view, this sunny, spacious cottage has a dining kitchen, large living room and separate dining room/games room. Garden furniture.

Carriage Mews

This cottage sleeping 5(one double one twin one single bedrooms) is in the southwest corner of the courtyard behind Duns Castle and is all on the first floor reached by own entrance from courtyard. One bathroom with over-bath shower, a light south-facing sitting-room with sofa-bed and gas fire, kitchen-diner. Good views over gardens behind Castle and west to grazing fields. Ideally placed for estate walks.
