The Corner House

Summary

The Corner House provides delightful self catering accommodation just a 3-minute stroll from Uppingham’s market square. Our beautifully restored period Victorian house near Oakham is only a 15-minute drive from Stamford and the renowned Burghley Horse Trials, making us a great base for exploring Rutland.

Accommodation

Our newly renovated property sleeps up to 6 people and comes with a range of facilities to suit all your needs, including a 42’’ TV, DVD player, Pod/MP3/PSP Docking Station, books and games.

Inside we have a cosy sitting room to relax in after a day sightseeing. The recently updated kitchen comes with an electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a separate dining room. A basement/utility room houses a butler sink and offers access from the courtyard.

In total, there are 3 bedrooms: 1 super-king en suite (can be made as two singles on request), 1 twin and 1 double room. The recently updated bathroom comes with an original roll-top bath and shower. Downstairs there is a further WC. All bed linen, towels and hairdryers are included.

Outside we have a charming courtyard with a table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining over a glass or two.

Visiting Uppingham & Exploring Rutland

We are in a brilliant location for exploring the area. Within a 3-minute walk is the Uppingham Sports Centre and a One Stop Shop is within 2 minutes. Uppingham has lots of speciality shops, traditional retailers, art galleries and antique shops. Enjoy excellent fishing at Eye Brook Reservoir and Rutland Water. The latter is one of Europe’s biggest reservoirs and is ideal for a range of activities. Attractions to visit include:

Tolethorpe Hall.
Barnsdale Gardens.
Rutland Sailing Club.
Rockingham Castle.
