Big Sky Lodges are located just outside of Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands and provide guests with a relaxing, unique and special location to escape to. Our self catering holiday lodges are cosy and comfortable & have been finished to the highest quality. They are made from Finnish pine from Lapland and are equipped with everything you may need for a break away.

Eagle Lodge

The interior design is simple and stylish, making good use of natural materials to create a calm and comfortable living space. We have added a touch of individuality with several pieces of handmade furniture and original artwork. The open plan design of the ground floor is entered from a large verandah at the front. The living room with its log burning stove leads through to the dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a twin room and a bathroom, with bath and shower, downstairs.

Mountain Lodge

Pipers Wood Lodge

Big Sky Lodges are solid log houses from Finland. As well as being strong, the breathable log structure balances the indoor humidity and temperature, making it a healthy place for you and your family. This self catering lodge has everything you need for a relaxing break away.

Red Kite Lodge

This lovely self catering holiday lodge is a perfect place for a quiet break in the beautiful surroundings of Big Sky Lodges. Relax on the verandah to watch the wildlife or just sit and gaze into the distance, (no traffic sounds at all, well maybe one car). The croft offers a safe place for children to play or admire our resident horses and highland cows. There are miles of footpaths through nearby Spittal wood which can be reached through a charming blue gate at the bottom of the Big Sky driveway.

Rowan Lodge

Rowan Lodge is a beautiful cosy Scandinavian lodge situated on our croft in a picturesque area of The Black Isle in Scotland and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We have added a touch of individuality with several pieces of handmade furniture and original artwork. The open plan design of the ground floor is entered from a large verandah at the front. The living room with its log burning stove leads through to the dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Rowan Lodge has one double bedroom with en suite bathroom and two twin rooms, one en-suite and one with adjacent shower room. There is also an extra sitting room upstairs – great for kids! This larger design has a cathedral ceiling which gives a contemporary atmosphere of space and light. There is a garden area around the lodges and ample car parking right beside the lodges with ramp access to the verandah.

Wildcat Lodge

Wildcat Lodge has two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and one twin with adjacent shower room. There is also an extra sitting room upstairs – great for kids! This larger design has a cathedral ceiling which gives a contemporary atmosphere of space and light. There is a garden area around the lodges and ample car parking right beside the lodges with ramp access to the veranda.

Local Area

Set on 17 acres of traditional Scottish croft land Big Sky has fantastic views over birch woodland and open fields grazed by horses and highland cattle. Ideally situated just ten miles from Inverness with its international airport and near to Loch Ness, you won’t find a better or more relaxing base to explore the whole of the highlands. On the very doorstep is some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. Whether you’re searching for a romantic break, a family week away or just a chance to escape from it all, then hopefully you’ll find a lodge to suit you.
