Overscapa Cottage is a distinctive new cottage full of traditional character. Situated in a rural location with beautiful panoramic views yet only 1 mile from Kirkwall. A spacious cottage designed to comfortably accommodate four to eight people, it is particularly suited for extended families.

The spacious main living room is at the heart of the cottage with doors to a private patio area where you can relax and watch the sunset over Wideford hill after a day’s exploring. The generous fully fitted kitchen/dining area allows up to eight people to dine in comfort whilst enjoying the views over Scapa Flow. A real fire, the local flagstone floor warmed by an environmentally friendly heat pump, and traditional features create a special ambience.

An attractive design feature is the layout of the four bedrooms. Two-bedroom areas, each with a double and twin bedroom adjacent to a bathroom/shower room, makes the cottage ideal for the extended family or if you are holidaying with friends.

Alternatively relax in an authentic Orkney stone cottage with a story to tell. Situated in its own grounds in a picturesque rural location overlooking Marwick Bay in Birsay. Sleeps two to four people.

The cottage has been sympathetically restored with meticulous attention to detail retaining the original stone walls and traditional flagstone roofing. Internally the exposed roof timbers, stone chimney and flagstone flooring ensure a charm and relaxing ambience only found in a historic cottage. The cosy underfloor central heating ensures you are kept warm during your stay.

The heart of the cottage is the comfortable living area, dining area and fitted kitchen. A picture window lets you savour the magnificent skies and magical sunsets over Marwick bay. In the “ben end” there is a double bedroom. A second bedroom with two bunk beds, and a shower room completes the accommodation.

The outhouse provides a washroom with automatic washing machine and a store for bikes, walking or fishing gear etc.

Both cottages are fully equipped with TV, DVD and Hi-Fi. An Orkney welcome pack awaits you on your arrival.

The central location of the cottages is ideal for most things available in Orkney whether your interest is walking, cycling, touring, fishing or golf. In Kirkwall visit the St Magnus Cathedral, museums, and other historic sites. Alternatively browse through the local shops and the bustling old harbour area. Explore one of the North Isles with a day trip.
