Summary

Lyme Cottage is a beautifully restored holiday cottage on the stunning Northumbrian coastline, offering unrivalled sea views and giving visitors the chance to either explore the area or simply relax. It is situated between the picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth and the historic town of Warkworth and is within easy reach of Alnwick and Bamburgh, making it an ideal gateway to Northumberland.

Accommodation

The cottage features two hemmel arched windows that fill the immaculately furnished lounge with light. A gas coal-effect fire creates a cosy atmosphere during winter evenings and the lounge also includes a large Smart TV and free WiFi throughout. The spacious dining kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave and is enhanced by a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams.

There are two luxury bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, panoramic sea views and a very comfortable king-size bed. The first-floor bedroom provides twin beds and a built-in wardrobe, with an adjacent bathroom that includes a bath, wash basin and toilet.

At the rear of the cottage, the fully enclosed lawned garden offers views across the sea towards Alnmouth in the distance and is perfect for alfresco dining. Lyme Cottage is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Alnmouth and Warkworth, with private access to the beautiful Killiecrankie Beach just a short walk down the field behind the cottage.

Visiting the Area

The private path to the beach also links to St Oswald’s Coastal Path, offering easy access to the stunning Northumberland coastline. Nearby, Warkworth lies a mile to the south with its beach, pubs, historic church, village shops and impressive 15th-century castle, while Alnmouth is three miles to the north with a popular sandy beach and a good choice of places to eat and drink. The fishing port of Amble, three miles away, offers a boardwalk, beach, cafés, restaurants and family attractions and the market town of Alnwick, five miles west, provides supermarkets, leisure facilities and the renowned Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Visitors can also explore Howick Hall, take boat trips to Coquet Island and easily reach Bamburgh, Holy Island and the Farnes. Golf courses are plentiful throughout the area and attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Forest, Cragside, Beamish Museum, the Angel of the North and Newcastle upon Tyne are all within comfortable travelling distance.
