Hideaway Hut is situated at Bardon Mill, in a quiet paddock filled with wild flowers, adjacent to one of our holiday homes, Stable Cottage, near the Northumberland market town of Hexham. Our Grande Roulotte provides exclusive accommodation for 2 guests and is in a position where guests can enjoy stunning views across the South Tyne Valley.
About Hideaways HutOur self catering holiday home has an open plan living area that includes a well equipped Culshaw Bell kitchenette and a comfortable seating area. This opens up onto a verandah where you can sit with your morning cup of coffee and listen to the bird song. Facilities within the hut include:

Wi-Fi internet access.
Bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and wash basin.
Small capacity washing machine.
Double bedroom that is screened from the living area for privacy.
The paddock will have an off road parking area with a charging point for customers with EV and hybrid vehicles. There will also be a dedicated astronomy viewing platform so customers will be able to enjoy the Dark Skies experience for which Northumberland is famous. The paddock is to be a designated wild flower meadow. Picnic table, seating and barbecue will also be provided.
Local AreaOur holiday home is only 3 miles from Hadrian's Wall, where you will find The Roman Army Museum, Houseteads fort and Walltown Craggs - the highest remaining section of Hadrian's Wall. The world famous archaeological site at Vindolanda is just over a mile away. All these interesting visitor attractions are within easy reach. The village of Bardon Mill with shop and pub is only 3/4 mile away. There are many facilities available in the small and friendly town of Haltwhistle, geographically acknowledged as 'The Centre of Britain', including several shops, restaurants and an outdoor swimming pool, is only 4 miles away.
Horse riders, ramblers and cyclists will delight in exploring the various footpaths and bridleways - the new cycle route which follows the Wall for 74 miles runs past the Old Military Road less than a mile north. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the ample choice of several prestigious courses within easy reach and salmon fishing can be enjoyed on the River Tyne close by. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey offers an abundance of amenities 12 miles east. The vibrant city of Newcastle is around 30 miles east and Carlisle 25 miles west, therefore providing an excellent base for those seeking to explore the historic charms of Hadrian's Wall Country coupled with easy access to visit the Lake District and North Pennines.
