Grindon Farm is situated at Haydon Bridge near Hexham nestled within the Northumberland National Park commanding spectacular, panoramic rural views. We provide an ideal base for walking and cycling holidays in beautiful Hadrian’s Wall country, or a peaceful retreat for some well deserved rest and relaxation!

The Old Farmhouse

Our cosy self catering cottage has been sympathetically converted from the original eighteenth century farmhouse and commands spectacular views of the surrounding countryside to the South.

The lounge / dining area has large windows, taking full advantage of the beautiful views, which can now be enjoyed with the additional comfort of our recently installed wood buring stove. Outside, the cottage has its own private garden with picnic table and chairs, and barbecue facilities.

The lounge / dining area opens directly onto the balcony, which also provides same-level access back to the main entrance.

The holiday cottage has 2 cosy bedrooms and can sleep 4 people (an extra bed is available to accommodate a fifth person). Each bedroom has an en-suite facility with shower and has been designed with mobility impaired guests also in mind.

Our self catering accommodation has recently been awarded a Bronze Award under the North East England Tourism Awards 2011, and Four Stars Gold Award under the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence Scheme.

Grindon Cartshed

Our beautiful barn conversion can be offered as self-catering accommodation. The property commands spectacular views down the Tyne valley.

The Cartshed has 3 bedrooms with en-suite facilities and can sleep up to 6 people offering Level 2 mobility accommodatiom.

The lounge and dining area has large floor to ceiling windows, taking full advantage of the beautiful views! Outside the accommodation is a private garden with picnic table and chairs, and barbecue facilities.

Each bedroom has an en-suite facility with shower and has been designed with mobility impaired guests also in mind.

Our holiday accommodation at Grindon Cartshed has been awarded Four Star Gold status under the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence Scheme.

Local Area

The nearby market town of Hexham situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley, offers great restaurants and shopping as well as many medieval buildings. Chief amongst these is the imposing Abbey dating from 674AD. Three miles further along the valley brings you to the pretty village of Corbridge with its upmarket shops, cafes and restaurants and the old roman town of Corstopitum.

Slightly further afield, the county town of Alnwick boasts a truly magnificent castle (featured prominently in the Harry Potter movies) and the Alnwick Garden - a fascinating contemporary garden with spectacular water features and one of the world's largest wooden treehouses. A short hop to the coast from Alnwick brings you to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a dramatic coastline dotted with romantic castles - visit Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Warkworth and Lindisfarne.

Rates: From £575 - £1500 per week depending on season and unit.
The largest property sleeps 7 and both properties can be combined to sleep 11.
