About Craster Penthouse Apartment

Our apartment has been recently totally refurbished to the highest standard. It provides elegant accommodation, with stunning views on all sides.

The rooms are exceptionally spacious and have many of the original features. This includes decorative coving, ornate stone & marble fireplaces and a fine Venetian chandelier in the drawing room. The apartment has its own front door, giving access to a large garden area with garden furniture, barbecue and the use of a tennis court and trampoline. We have superfast broadband and a bio-mass boiler for environmentally friendly heating.

Our spacious apartment has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 sitting rooms, so there is plenty of room for everyone. A well equipped utility room on the ground floor provides every facility for making the most of all the beautiful area offers.

Visiting Craster & Exploring Northumberlnd

The picturesque fishing village of Craster is a short walk down a footpath through woods and fields. Its tiny horseshoe shaped harbour was built to commemorate a member of the Craster family. The fishing industry has for centuries been the mainstay of the village economy. Nowadays crabs and lobsters are the chief catch. The smokehouse, run by the Robson family since 1905, is at the heart of the village. This is where herring are smoked to produce the renowned Craster kippers.

Plenty of coastal walks are available, passing some dramatic scenery. This includes one along to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle Other nearby attractions and places of interest include:

Alnwick Castle and Gardens.
Warkworth Castle.
Bamburgh Castle.
Holy Island.
The Farne Islands.
Cheviot Hills.

Northumberland is home to many superb beaches. You can go sand yachting at Bamburgh, jet skiing at Beadnell and castle building at Embleton. The area is a haven ramblers and bird watchers. 5 golf courses are within 20 minutes.
