The Butchins offers charming self catering in the quaint village of Askrigg, nestled away down a peaceful lane just off the village centre. Our cottage near Upper Wensleydale in North Yorkshire is in the ideal location for discovering all that the area has to offer.

Accommodation

Our wonderful stone cottage dates from 1720 and now offers high-quality accommodation to suit all your needs. The cottage is tastefully furnished and comes with everything you for a cosy getaway.

Unwind in the cosy beamed living room after a day sightseeing. You can relax on the deep sofas in front of the toasty wood burner. Make some delicious home-cooked food in the fully-equipped kitchen and savour some lovely meals around the large farmhouse table, set behind the heavy rectory front door.

Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with gorgeous, exposed timbers, plus a spacious twin room. A bathroom comes with a shower.

Visiting Askrigg & Exploring North Yorkshire

Askrigg is a lovely village to explore, with the main street lined with stone cottages and tea shops. The village also has lots of pubs, including the Crown Inn and The Kings Arms. Take in the amazing natural landscape at Yorkshire Dales National Park, great for walking, cycling and horse riding. Only 4 miles away at Aysgarth and its glorious, tiered falls. Great attractions to visit include:

Fountains Abbey.
Malham Cove.
Castle Howard.
White Scar Cave.
National Trust - Brimham Rocks.
