Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, North Yorkshire
Alice Cottage is half way down “The Bank” at Robin Hood’s Bay, a fishing and smuggling village built in the 17th century. The old village is a maze of cobbled streets and picturesque cottages built into the cliffs. Within easy walking distance, there are plenty of friendly pubs and cafes serving excellent food, and at the top of “The Bank” the newer part of the village boasts further places to eat along with tennis courts, putting and bowling greens. There is limited vehicular access to the old village.
The cottage, which has a particularly sunny aspect, has been family owned for five generations and the owner lives nearby for ease of key holding, maintenance etc. Hot water and heating are provided by gas fired central heating.
The accommodation comprises a kitchen diner on the ground floor with gas cooker, microwave and fridge and a dining table to seat six. Stairs then lead up to the first floor where you will find the bathroom with bath, low-level w.c. and electric shower over the bath. The lounge, also on this floor, contains a flat screen TV and comfortable furniture, with 4ft double bed in an alcove.
Further spiral stairs lead to another floor consisting of a large bedroom with sea view, a double and single bed and small colour TV. A further small bedroom holds a single bed and a chest of drawers.
All beds have duvets and linen is provided. However, please bring your own towels.
