Rose Cottage Farm comprises two oak beamed separate self catering holiday cottage units which individually cater for two adults sharing. Briar and Bramble's cottage are located adjacent to each other, making the accommodation of larger parties possible by booking both cottages at the same time.
Briar Cottage is a one-bedroom holiday cottage, perfect for couples seeking a peaceful countryside retreat. The ground floor features a spacious super king bedroom with luxurious Bedeck bedding, along with a separate bathroom and shower. Upstairs, guests can enjoy an open-plan lounge and dining area, divided from the refurbished kitchen by an oak beam. The fully fitted kitchen includes a full-size oven and hob, microwave, fridge with a 3-star freezer compartment and generous storage space. From the lounge, large windows offer views over the patio, pergola and surrounding open countryside.
This one-bedroom, beamed holiday cottage offers a cosy and comfortable stay. The ground floor features a delightful king-sized bedroom with luxurious Bedeck bedding and an en-suite shower room with modern facilities. Upstairs, the open-plan layout includes a fully fitted kitchen equipped with a full-size oven and hob, microwave and a fridge with a 3-star freezer compartment, alongside a relaxing lounge and dining area. Guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the Vale of York to the Pennines, making this cottage an ideal self-catering retreat in a beautiful rural setting.

All full-week stays include a complimentary welcome pack to help you settle in. Briar Cottage features a Superking bed, while Bramble Cottage offers a King-sized bed. Although there are currently no laundry facilities on site, guests are welcome to hang hand-washed items out to dry and for longer stays, we can arrange for laundry to be sent out for cleaning.
Rose Cottage Farm is home to a variety of rare and fascinating animals, including the Herdwick sheep, a distinctive and hardy breed native to the Lake District in Cumbria, North West England. The farm also keeps Indian Runner Ducks, an unusual and upright breed originally from the Indian subcontinent and Malaysia, known for their unique posture and lively personalities.
Ideally located for exploring North Yorkshire, our cottages are within easy reach of popular destinations including Thirsk, Helmsley, York, Scarborough, Harrogate, Malton, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. The area is perfect for walking enthusiasts, with scenic routes such as the Cleveland Way, including the picturesque stretch from Helmsley to Sutton Bank that features the iconic White Horse of Kilburn. Nearby attractions include Castle Howard, one of Britain’s most magnificent stately homes, still privately owned by the Howard family who built it over three centuries ago. Also close by is Duncombe Park, a grand historic estate known for its stunning grounds and exciting calendar of outdoor events, from steam fairs to craft shows.
