Visiting Hunstanton & Exploring Norfolk

Hunstanton, known locally as 'Sunny Hunny', is a delightfully old-fashioned seaside town and can be very busy in summer. There are plenty of shops including Tesco. From the house it is a five minute walk to the nearest beach (North Beach) at the bottom of the cliffs. The tide goes out a long way revealing a large expanse of flat sand. It is completely safe for children and there is the added attraction of rock pools. For older children and adults South Beach (at the other end of the town) offers all sorts of water sports including canoeing, wind surfing and para-surfing.

Besides the beach and water sports there are some wonderful walks along the coastal path, which forms part of the North Norfolk heritage coastline. There is golf at Old Hunstanton (1 mile), bird watching at Titchwell and lots of good pubs, including the Lifeboat at Thornham and the Lord Nelson at Burnham Thorpe.
