Old Lion Cottage offers delightful self catering accommodation in the village of Thurne near Great Yarmouth. We are perfect for an idyllic countryside break in Norfolk.

Accommodation

Our beautifully restored cottage sleeps up to 4 people and is equipped to a high standard to suit all your needs. The cottage dates from the 19th Century and boasts views of the open countryside and marshes.

On the ground floor we have a living room with comfy seating, catch-up TV, a DVD player with DVDs and a CD player/DAB/FM/internet radio with Spotify Connect. The dining area has seating for 4 people. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances: induction hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. There is a table and chairs for 2 people.

We have 2 bedrooms on the first floor. Bedroom 1 has a king bed and enjoys views over the open fields. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and offers views over the back garden, River Thurne and marshes. Both rooms share a bathroom with an over-bath mixer shower and WC.

Outside we have an enclosed garden with a lawn and patio areas with garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

Visting Thurne & Exploring Norfolk

We are in a fantastic spot for cycling, fishing, walking and bird watching. The Norfolk coast and its sandy beaches are easily accessible by car. Within 250 yards there is a pub which offers meals, spirits, wines and beers. You can visit the nearby towns and villages. Attractions to visit include:

Caister Castle.
Broads Wildlife Centre.
Bure Valley Railway.
Burgh Castle.
Norwich Castle.
