Visiting Gunthorpe & Exploring Norfolk

Set in the heart of the wonderful North Norfolk Countryside, Gunthorpe Hall is only 25 minutes from the most beautiful long sandy beaches at Wells and Holkham, and only 10 minutes from the historic Georgian market town of Holt. There is also plenty of fabulous, accessible walking at both Holt and Sheringham Country Parks for people of all ages.

For children, there are the fun seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham, as well as many local attractions including WildRootz at Pensthorpe Natural Park where children can learn the wonders of the natural world and run free. Or head to Norfolk's best large visitor attraction of 2013, Dinosaur Adventure at Lenwade - an all-weather monster attraction set in 100 acres of woodland, with indoor and outdoor adventure play areas.

For adults, both Blickling and Holkham Hall are a delight for the senses, with beautiful walks around the grounds and a selection of tea and cakes while you rest your weary legs. You can take a trip with Beans Seal Trips out to Blakeney Point which is only a 10-minute drive away.

We are ideally placed to take advantage of the Thursford Christmas Spectacular during wintertime, we are only 5 minutes down the road, and having been ourselves, we highly recommend a visit!

There are a huge number of bespoke, quality, local eateries serving fresh local Norfolk specialities such as locally reared Pork and Beef, Cromer Crab, Lobster, Strawberries and much, much more. The Dun Cow at Salthouse is a popular choice for us, as well as The Crown at Wells. There is also the Kings Head at Letheringsett which is only 10 minutes down the road and has a wonderful garden for children to play in while Mum and Dad can relax with a glass of wine in the sun.
