Magnolia Cottage is split into two holiday apartments, Stables and Gables and is a beautiful Edwardian house situated in a quiet area but close to the heart of Sheringham in Norfolk.
Stables - Sleeps 4Stables is on the ground floor, is self-contained and completely level. The apartment is light and airy, beautifully presented, with a coastal theme and driftwood art. It has its own external door, leading into a small entrance hall with coat and boot storage. Spacious, sociable open plan living area, with comfy leather sofas around the original Norfolk brick fireplace. Newly refurbished dining kitchen, good quality and well equipped, with oven, microwave, fridge/ freezer compartment and everyday essentials. Two bedrooms (one double, one twin, both with deep, comfortable mattresses and good quality bed linen). Shower room (spacious shower, washbasin) and separate wc /washbasin, both with new, contemporary fittings.

Children over five are welcome and will enjoy the toys, games, books and sailing boats, beach hut playhouse, buckets and spades, and of course crabbing nets!
Outside, 'Stables' has its own private courtyard garden with seating area, picnic bench and beach hut playhouse. You're also welcome to enjoy the south-facing, lawned guest garden (also open to our smaller apartment Gables) with plenty of seating and tables, and a pretty summerhouse with four comfy chairs. Easily accessed private off-street parking on our drive, immediately in front of the cottage.
Gables - Sleeps 2'Gables' is completely self-contained, on the first floor of the main house with access through the entrance hall. From the landing, the apartment has its own front door and entrance hall. Steps lead down to the open plan kitchen/ living space. Newly refurbished, it's light and airy, with a leather sofa, flatscreen freeview tv, excellent library of local interest books, maps and walking guides, fiction, games and our own information folder. The bespoke handmade kitchen is well-equipped and spotlessly clean, with fridge/freezer compartment, microwave, small oven and dining table. Pretty vintage style bedroom with ensuite wc/shower room. The wrought iron bed was handbuilt locally; the goose feather quilt, Egyptian cotton bedlinen and deep pocket sprung mattress (together with the sea air!) should ensure sweet dreams. Two comfy armchairs by the window, overlooking the garden, provide a second, very peaceful sitting area, also with flatscreen tv.
Parking & GardensThere is ample off-street parking on our driveway; many guests leave the car all week, walk into town or use the Coasthopper bus or train to explore the area. Guests from both our apartments are welcome to enjoy the lawned, south facing garden, with plenty of seating areas and tables, and the pretty summerhouse, the perfect spot to unwind, glass in hand, after a windswept day on the coast!
LocationFor centuries a remote fishing village, Sheringham grew into an Edwardian summer retreat following the arrival of the railway in 1887. The fishermen’s quarter, with its flint and pebble cottages, remains at the heart of the town, the little boats still winched from the sea each morning with their catch of lobster and crab. Sheringham today is a small, unspoilt seaside town surrounded by clifftop walks and rolling National Trust woodland. It has an old-fashioned high street full of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, the Blue Flag award winning beach, a fine coastal golf course, the Little Theatre, museums celebrating the town’s seafaring heritage and the much-loved Poppy Line steam railway.
