Shepherds Cottage is a charming 16th Century self catering holiday cottage, situated in the grounds of Grimblethorpe Hall, near to Louth in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
AccommodationThe holiday cottage has been lovingly restored with original beams and stonework and has a very spacious bedroom with king size bed.
Lounge, kitchen/dining area and bathroom which is en suite to the bedroom.
The décor and refurbishment of this charming building, previously used for centuries as the cottage in which the farm’s shepherd stayed during lambing time, has been undertaken with the greatest of taste and to the highest quality of standards.
Facilities in the holiday cottage include a cooker, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, linen and bedding. Towels and cloths. Full central heating. All electricity used is included in the tariff. Television, DVD player and garaging.

The area is ideal for touring the county’s historic houses and heritage sites and excellent for those who enjoy activity holidays; walking, cycling, golfing, fishing, painting or simply relaxing in the tranquil countryside that is Lincolnshire’s Poacher Country.
Grimblethorpe is a charming hamlet six miles from the market town of Louth. The hamlet’s name is derived from the Norman Knight Grim, and it is thought that this is where he had his Thorpe or settlement as quantities of stone implements, dugout canoes and ornaments have been found. Legend has it that the Knight is buried in the tumulus on the hill, now known as Grim’s Mound.
