The Rookery in Roughlee offers luxurious self catering accommodation in a unique grass roofed dwelling. We are nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Lancashire, perfect for the ultimate countryside retreat.

Accommodation

Our magical property blends industrial influences with bespoke craftsmanship to offer fabulous accommodation. The house boasts stunning countryside views and is surrounded 6 acres of lush farmland.

This quirky property is quite unlike any other holiday cottage, great for an unforgettable getaway. A wonderful open plan living area and kitchen will suit all your needs. The gorgeous handcrafted fully fitted kitchen comes with a fantastic Belfast sink and concrete worktops. A large central island seats 6, perfect for enjoying a feast on.

Unwind in the cosy living area with comes with a toasty wood burner and stunning Chesterfield sofas. The ideal spot to snuggle on whilst savouring the amazing views. On the first floor, there is also a delightful reading area with superb G-plan armchairs.

Just off the reading area are two beautiful bedrooms with king-size beds, great for a peaceful night’s sleep. The bedrooms include bespoke lighting, comfy bedding and offers spectacular views. A third bedroom is reached by ladders, offering a charming secret hideaway. If you have more than 4 guests, 2 single beds can be offered.

A truly special bathroom offers an authentic wow factor. Glorious features include black subway tiles and a gold geometric boarder, a sewing machine basin, a huge shower and a lavish cast iron roll top bath to soak yourself in.

Outside there is a lovely patio with a BBQ for al fresco dining whilst savouring the sun. Soak away your troubles in the fantastic 6-person hot tub. We also have a large garden area with is fully enclosed behind excellent electric gates.

Visiting Roughlee & Exploring Lancashire

This part of the country is a haven for walkers and cyclists, with lots of scenic routes in the area, including the Tackler’s Trails and The Grand Tour of Pendle. Only a few miles away are several great pubs which serve delicious food. 2 miles away is Barrowfood, home to a range of shops, eateries, a wine bar, restaurant and small supermarket. Within a 30-minute drive is Lancashire’s Ribble Valley, home to quaint villages and delightful country inns. Further attractions to visit include:
