Crepigill Cottage

Skeabost bridge, Portree, Isle of Skye

Sleeps 1-2
£400 - £600

Crepigill Cottage is described by guests as ‘a romantic little gem’ and, although small, it offers comfortable, well-equipped accommodation whilst retaining the essential beauty and character of a 200 year old cottage. Located at Skeabost Bridge, just 5 miles west of Portree, the cottage is ideal for touring Skye and has stunning panoramic views over the River Snizort to the ‘soft’ side of The Storr, Ben Tianavaig and, further away, the Black Cuillins, Skye’s world famous mountains.

This delightful cottage stands in its own pretty fenced garden and is surrounded by common grazing land. It only sleeps 2 guests but provides comfortable, well equipped and warm accommodation with 4 ground floor rooms around a central hallway with a large cupboard.

The front door leads directly into the small dining kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, automatic washing machine and microwave and the cosy sitting room with TV, CD and DVD player is ideal to unwind after an active day. Comprehensive tourist information, local books, games and Wifi are all provided.

The attractive bedroom has a delightfully draped double bed, wardrobe and drawer space and there is a spacious shower room.

All the rooms feature paintings by local artists. Outside there is a picnic bench for al fresco dining and a small storage shed.

Skye is a large island and a stunning magical place with dramatic vistas of wild landscapes. There are plenty of places to explore by driving, walking or climbing and you can have many encounters with eagles and other wildlife. No wonder it is a magnet for painters, photographers and film crews! It is also full of history with evidence of iron age, pictish and viking settlemets as well as many ruined crofting townships left from the 19thC clearances.

A few minutes walk from the cottage takes you to the carved pictish stone at Tote and St Columba’s Isle where the ruins of the medieval Cathedral of The Isles, medieval knight grave slabs and a mortuary chapel are found.

The Trotternish Ridge with The Storr, The Quiraing, the Fairy Glen, Kilt Rock, the Coral Beaches at Claigan, Neist Point, Glen Brittle, the Fairy Pools and the Cuillins are just some of the famous landmarks of Skye.

Crepigill Cottage is well located for exploring all of Skye.
