Because the right place to stay doesn’t just support your trip — it elevates it.

Tigh Dubh - Magical surroundings, a building with history, perfect for friends or a family - sleeps 4

A wooden panelled open plan living dining area provides a great space for relaxing, lounging over an extended breakfast or dinner. “Feels as though I’ve been transported to a different time,”( Lisa from Birmingham). While surrounded by original art, photographs and handmade tiles by the fire, enjoy the warmth of the wood and insulation. Curl up next to the pot bellied stove, play the board games, read the books, listen to your own music via a blue tooth speaker or watch DVD/TV which has Freeview. Staying in touch with work, friends or family is possible through Wi-Fi. The bedroom on the ground floor has a double “box bed” made by a local craftsman with locally sourced “spalded” sycamore and larch. The snug sleeping platform has 2 single beds. Access is via a purpose-built log ladder, loved by the younger and older generation alike, but not recommended for toddlers. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Belfast sink and all necessary crockery and utensils. The bathroom is a wet room comprising shower, WC and sink. The property is graded class 3 for disabled access. Background heating is from night storage heaters. Electricity is included in the rental as is bed linen.

Merman - A cosy sanctuary, perfect for friends or a family, a place that creates memories - sleeps 4

The cottage has been carefully renovated with attention to history and architectural detail. The wood-panelled, open-plan living area, provides a comfortable space in which to relax after a day on the hills, cosseted by thick walls and the cosy crackle of a fire in the wood-burning stove. We have a Bluetooth speaker for guests to use with their own music and there is a free view TV. Board games and a selection of books for all tastes provide additional entertainment for that odd rainy day. Tiles in the kitchen were hand-made in the local pottery, others were brought back by friends from India. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave, fridge, dishwasher and all necessary crockery and utensils. Climb the wooden spiral staircase to the main bedroom and enjoy the double bed with crisp cotton sheets and stunning views over the loch. The smaller bedroom has 2 single beds with views of the garden, croft walk and hills and listen for the trickle of the burn which runs by the cottage. There are 2 bathrooms: a small one upstairs and a wet room with shower and sink downstairs. Background heating is from night storage heaters, electricity is included in the rental as is bed linen.

Ewan Bàn - A hand built robust romantic gypsy caravan with a story - sleeps 2

Our hand-built cabin lodge offers a romantic gypsy caravan style, sleeping 2. Nestled away in the trees, this lodge is perfect for a romantic getaway. There is also a separate shower and composting loo, plus a double box bed at one end, with a living, dining and kitchen area at the other. Outside there is a covered veranda to relax on.

On the Croft

People lead stressful, busy lives these days and our hope is that the croft will provide guests with a place to relax, unwind and maybe even throw away their car keys for a few days. The croft walks are perfect short pre breakfast or after dinner strolls, the fire pit and barbecue offers a place to laze away the hours while younger folk can burn off energy on the trampoline or build dens in the woodland areas.

Helen’s Armadilla is a place to be quite or experience a revitalising shiatsu massage. The loch front at the foot of the croft is great for “pottering”, collecting winkles, spotting birds or just ………thinking. We have bicycles for those who would like to exercise, we can point you in the directions of some great local walks and sometimes the ponies need to be given a carrot of have their ears scratched.

Location

Skye has something for everyone, no matter what your age or ability. With outdoor activities aplenty the island and the sea around it is like a giant adventure playground. If water based activities are your “thing” you can slide down a waterfall, swim at the foot of sea cliffs or explore the coast in a sea kayak – we can find someone to show you how. Boat tours will introduce you to sea birds and mammals or act as a “pick up / drop off” water taxi to get you to those out of the way spots. Maybe you want to bag a few Munros, walk a sea cliff route or go for the big one – traverse the Cuillin ridge, arguably the most arduous adventure in the UK.
