The Apartment is a self catering holiday apartment which is situated just 100 metres from the high tide mark of a sheltered bay and has an uninterrupted view over Loch Snizort Beag to the Outer Hebrides in the distance. Although in an idyllic peaceful location it is ideally located for touring the whole of Skye as well as local walks.
The bay is home to otters, seals and a variety of seabirds. You can even harvest mussels, cockles and whelks at low tide while exploring the easily accessed pebble and black sand shoreline. Golden and Sea Eagles can be spotted overhead. A profusion of Orchids and Primroses and an abundance of other wild flowers can be found on the headland and on the croft land around the cottage.
The upper floor of our home has been refurbished to a high standard, providing quality accommodation to enhance your stay on the beautiful Isle of Skye. The apartment is accessed by a private entrance.
There is a good sized lounge with large windows looking out over the the loch. The well equipped galley kitchen is open plan with the living area.
The double bedded room and twin bedded room are well furnished. The bathroom has a shower fitted over the bath and fitted storage.
We invite you to unwind in the tranquil setting of Knott, make use of our mature flower filled garden complete with garden furniture.
The following activities can be enjoyed within a 30 minute drive of Knott.
Walking / climbing: a perfect location for mountaineers and walkers / hillwalkers of all abilities from mountains (the Cuillin Range) and hills (Trotternish) to more gentle walks directly from Knott Cottage including an interesting stroll along our mussel strewn foreshore.
Fishing can be enjoyed from the headland of our bay, and numerous other points around the Island. Fishing trips as well as wild life cruises are available from various piers.
Horse riding and Trekking is offered nearby.
Golf can be played at the Skeabost and Sconser.
Sea Kayaking, Canoeing, Windsurfing and Archery (tuition available).
Palaeontology and Geology: The Isle of Skye is an excellent natural laboratory for observing geological matters and fossils, Skye being one of the richest locations for dinosaur remains and fossils in the UK.
Dunvegan Castle with its glorious gardens, St Columba's Isle at the head of the River Snizort, the legend of Bonnie Prince Charlie are of historical interest.
A wide variety of local arts and crafts can be viewed and purchased in numerous workshops, studios, galleries.
There are regular performances of Theatre, Film, Traditional Music, Ceilidh are held on the Island.
A wide choice of restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets, many featuring fresh Isle of Skye produce are available. All bed linen / towels and final cleaning are included in rental.
Rates: £320 to £490per week depending on season.
Short Breaks are available out of season from £75.00 per night.
